That's an assumption. You have no clue if they'd strip him for trying to unify. They might, but they might not. Besides, who's to say that Povetkin won't take step-aside money with a guarantee at an even bigger fight down the road. You're calling a lot of people stupid for someone who has no clue what they are talking about. :nut
I agree that Haye is merely trying to create a buzz and interest in the fight by saying this nonsensical crap about suddenly feeling cheated and taken advantage of for signing to a scenario HE, HIMSELF, wanted. He's just trying to promote the fight is all. His remarks are complete, unfounded woe is me, the poor underdog bull****, and anyone who has tracked this fight's negotiating progress can clearly see that.
The guy gets a shortcut to the top so it's fair that he has to give up something in return for that. Nobody put a gun to his head. He should've declined if it didn't suit him. In a diffrent scenario he has to work his way to the top and gets beaten by several TOP10 HW and doesn't get a sniff at WK in his boxing career. Haye is a nobody at HW. Do you think if Adamek beats a "Barrett" he will get a title shot? Haye is lucky that the British hype machine has latched onto him. That's the only reason he gets this deal.
... It's not really funny when a chin has already been exposed and the boxer admits to having a bad chin.
im just going on history man in the time space the individual sanctioning bodies allow their champions to fight the mandatories from that alone you can see that it is almost certain that the ibf would reliquish the title from haye if he were to win and 6 month down the line step in the ring with wlad again but there is a slight chance i could be wrong for sure
The IBF have said that Povetkins mandatory status is to be enforced by September 13th. He might have stepped aside if he had to wait or one rematch but expecting him to wait for three fights is ridiculous.
More than a slight chance, they almost ALWAYS sanction a re-match. I can't name off the top of my head where they didn't.
sooooooooo....... haye beats wlad first time out, they agree a rematch sometime later in the year, vitali gets beaten in the mean time, what happens then?
..also it's doubtful if Haye wins that he'd re-match Wlad... because if Haye wins it will be by KO or TKO, and Wlad won't get back in the ring right away with a guy who just KHTFO.. he never has in the past. More likely is VK stepping in for a uni- and that'd be that. Moot point though, as I think Wlad brutally KO's Haye.
