i dont know about you but i wont be telling my son about the time the "amazing" vitali came back from a 4 year lay off and beat the "formidable" sam peter in one of the great heavyweight fights of the ages. and i doubt anyone else will (apart from the usual suspects)
Agreed, I'm one of Peter's biggest fans on ESB, but he wouldn't stand a chance against a prime Mike Tyson, It's a 50/50 for me on wether he would beat the 01/02 version of Tyson. Peter's only attribute that is about equal to Tyson is his chin, thats it IMO. As far as Klit brothers go, I actually kinda like Vitali, he's tough, great chin, and dont mind going punch for punch with his oppenents. Wlad on the other hand is my worst type of fighter, lacks toughness at the top ranks, weak chin, and seems to afraid to go punch for punch with his oppenents. While I believe Wlad is has ATG talent, his mental toughness is very questionable to say the least, while Vitali is very strong mentally, he is not nearly as talented as his brother in boxing skills.
It's not just the Klits that are hated....... Its the fact that the HW is dominated by Eastern European con men who hold on to a belt dear life without wanting to fight each other..... The fact that Wlad v Sultan was the first unifaction since Lewis v Holyfield speaks volumes for the division. Viali, Wlad, Valuev, Povetkin, Chauguev are the top HW's and none have fought each other
^^ Indeed, coupled to this wlad stinks up the ring every time he fights it's like watching paint dry. Vitali i have no problem with really it is just wlad. The fact is not many people like safety first fighters, it is very boring to watch therefore they are hated.
Of course a Peter Tyson comparison is laughable. I'm not comparing them. All I'm saying is for some odd reason, when Wlad vs Tyson gets mentioned, people always point to the Peter fight. Tyson was light years ahead of Peter in skill and speed. But unlike Peter, Tyson did cheat (in his prime) and deliver illegal blows, except the occasional use of the elbows. However, against Wlad, Tyson would have a hell of a time trying to get inside because of the long jab that Wlad has. Tyson's strategy would have to revolve around getting Wladimir to the ropes and pinning him there to deliver his trademark hip, liver, chin combo from his prime days. Even if he did, something tells me Wlad is so darn tall, that the final Tyson uppercut would miss repeatedly. Either way, it would be a great fight if anyone ever creates it on a computer program. I wonder how Tyson would stand up to eating a jab for 12 rounds straight?
Well the Klitchkos know how to use a jab. They show how even robotic heavyweights can be succesful if they follow good boxing technique. It also shows how terrible the heavyweights are now, not that they were ever that great compared to lighter weight fighters. Why the lighter weight fighters were not paid attention to as much as heavyweights I do not know. In the 1980s during the same time period you had Hagler/Hearns and then Larry Holmes vs. David Bey, yet Larry wondered by people did not give him respect. For a while he did not fight many great guys. But he was great for fighting and beating some good guys like Norton,Weaver and Cooney.
Every good to great Heavyweight fighter cheats. Like my old trainer once told me, "If you aint cheating, your not trying hard enough to win". Wlad is no different than Tyson or Peter, the guy excessively clinched Peter to death in their fight back in 05, 97 times I counted, he also lays on fighters backs when they bend over, you can see him do this move in several fights, one being the 2nd Brewster fight. Here's a few examples of Heavyweights doing a little extra to win. Holyfield - Headbutts Lewis- Laying on fighters backs Tyson- Elbows Ali- Excessive holding Boxing is not a sport for pussies, and in any contact sport your going to get fouled, it's just part of the game.
Yeah and i remember Brewster,Ruiz,Byrd all unified.....:tong:nono Was the same **** a few years back when they all held the belts. Boxing politics causes this not the Klitschko's.
klitschkos are hated because..... they fight knowbodies and are the biggest eastern european frauds ive ever seen. the worst thing to happen to the sport in years. the demands wlad has put in the contract to ***** out of fighting haye and not giving the pubic the only meaningful heavyweight fight is diabolical. without there stupidly big height they would be the most awful fighters around. tyson, lewis, ali, cooper, fraiser etc walk all over them and snap them into peices
Because they're both clean cut and act like little fruticakes, especially Wlad. And taking naked pictures on the swings don't help either. Wlad sitting on Vitaly's lap n **** with his thumb in his mouth. I can't stand the way Wlad stands on the top rope after each victory and put up that peace sign with that gay grin on his face. ****in fairy.
