The Klit hysteria, as someone rightly put it, is definitely out of control. You've got people putting Wladimir in the same category as Lennox Lewis. Also, if you look on any Klit video on YouTube, the comments section is full of highly racist comments. It seems the Klits have a large, extremist following which is very worrying but probably explains their irrational behaviour.

 

I have seen far more evidence of racist behaviour from Klit-haters than from Klit-fans and I am neither. I think Vitaly is excellent, but Wlad is more goofy than anything else.

However, I am fairly convinced that most Klit haters here dislike them mostly for their skin colour and secondly because they are not american.

 

I think it's more to do with the fact they're not particularly exciting to watch and are presiding over a rather weak division. Vitali, admittedly, is the better to watch of the two but the way Wladimir is eulogised is quite sickening. Also the fact we won't crown an undisputed heavyweight champion while they're both winning is also annoying.

I think you need to have a look around though. It seems lots of white supremicists follow the Klitschko brothers.

 

klitchkos are the biggest thing in boxing right now, depite the rhetoric on this thread.

people downplaying there attraction to the worldwide boxing audience are burying there heads in the sand.

if you do not like them, that is a personall choice fair enough.

 

Both the brothers have sold out all of their US venues. They may never be on the popularity level of Tyson or Holyfield or even Lewis, but casual sports fans I have talked to at least have some inkling of them. I often hear "those Russian brothers right? Isnt one of them the champ right now" when I mention them.

Considering most sports fans havent a clue who any boxer is other than DLH and maybe Mayweather or Pacquaio, thats at least something.

Globally however, the Klitschkos brothers are extremely well known, even in Africa and Asia, and they draw massive 50,000+ crowds in Europe.

Boxing is a thriving sport everywhere but the US.
