Actually, Haye needs it more. He cannot make fights. In the last few years he only fought 3 bums in dire need of a payday (Barrett, Ruiz, Harrison) and he had to sign a slave contract with Sauerland/Don King to get a shot at Valuev.
Seriously, Eddie Chambers is a better win than David Haye at the moment. Chambers beat 3 top 10 fighters very convincingly in Brock, Peter, and Dimentrko. Chageav also dethroned Valuev and Ruiz when they were active top 5 ranked fighters. Chris Byrd was a top 5 fighter for years with numerous top 10 wins over Vitali, Tua, Holyfield, McCline..etc. and had 4 successful title defenses. Samuel Peter had 3 top 5 wins over Toney and Oleg. Haye beat one top 5 fighter in Valuev...and managed 2 title defenses against non-top 10 fighters. At heavy, Haye's achievements are on par with say a Sultan. He would not be the best scalp on Wlad's resume, the only interest in the match up is his combination of power and speed. But than again, Sultan was suppose to bring the same "x factors" to the table.
Haye needs Wlad or Vitali, not the other way around. Haye is a joke who can't attract flies outside of London.
Lewis is right, but not for the reasons he claims. As an opponent Haye doesn't mean a great deal long term, but the opportunity to unify the titles is why the Klitchkos need Haye more than Haye needs them. Haye's top priority is money and he can get that fighting anyone.
Look at this logically, The Klitschkos never fight Haye and what? They have both shown they were more than willing to take the fight numerous times, whereas Haye has been shown up as a liar and a ducker. So both Klitschkos go about there business, fight whoever they have to fight, Adamek, Povetkin, etc, and keep winning. Wlad will likely make a record number of defenses and retire with credibilty, repect and more money than he'll ever need. Haye never fights a Klitschko and he becomes irrelevant in world terms. He will stay in Britain defending Wlad's WBA belt until he gets knocked out by the first half decent heavyweight he fights, oh and he can say goodbye to his ppvs. Sky won't hype this chump anymore when they realise he has no intention of fighting the brothers. So tell me, who really needs who?
If Haye beats one of the brothers then that's worth something because we know both brothers are good heavyweights. If a Klitschko knocks out Haye then what good is that win, apart from winning the belt? Thanks to his short track record a knock-out would reduce the win over Haye to another random padded record-holder who got knocked out.
This is true. It's not Wlad that needs Haye or the other way around. The heavyweight division needs Wlad vs Haye. And it's not like Pac vs PBF where there are several fascinating fights to make due to stacked divisions. There is literally no current heavyweight fight that gets me excited other than Haye vs either Klit. And that's coming from someone who has defended the heavyweight division like a 9 year old autistic kid since 2004 when things started looking bad... (I'd still like to ****ing see Pac vs Mayweather though).
-The Heayvweight division needs top fighters fighting top fighters period. Eh if Haye continues to play games, I look forward to seeing Adamek vs. Wlad/Vitali, he's at least a smart, tough, hard worker that always entertains. -Yeah, I really don't have much hope for that one. But really, there's so many huge fights that never came off in the past 2 decades, not that shocking, but disappointing as all hell.
