I'm not even that big of a Tyson fan but I won't let my hatred misguide my opinion. Tyson wasn't prime for 2 years.

Both would beat Tyson. But are you sure they're WAY more intimidating than Mike?

In his prime, Tyson would pump fear into his opponents because of his outstanding hand speed, accuracy, coordination, power, and timing, not to mention his menacing image. A master of mind games, most of Tyson’s opponents lost the fight before a single punch was even landed.

even if they're tougher are they that much tougher. Let's just say they're both equal to Tyson? Though I think Tyson has the edge over both.

Right, Tyson was not 2 years post prime, he was at his absolute peak less than 2 years before, & was still prime 6 months before Douglas when he KOed Williams in 1/2 a round!

But it is equally mistaken that a fighter was prime because he was an age when he could &/or should have been prime.
This is not what prime means. It means the years when a fighter was at or very near his absolute best. IF Tyson had continued to be as great after Douglas, then you could argue the smantics, that it was during the time frame of his prime, though he was not prime for that fight.

But Tyson's performances, on film & the results, leaves no reason for ambiguity. The last year you can call prime is '89, though still very good for some '90's fights.

So basically he was at his best until he got battered by Douglas. Douglas in that condition and state of mind would have beat any version of Tyson.

He declined prior to Douglas. After Spinks I would say. It's all speculation

I dont know. If you look at the next 3 fights Tyson had after Douglas, he looked darn near the same. I think people say the Feb 11, 1990 version of Mike Tyson was **** is just because he got his azz whipped and people who worship the man have no other way to explain it to themselves. Im going to guess that the Mike Tyson who lost to Buster Douglas was 96.5163% of Mike on the best night of his life.

How the hell can you make a ****potical statement like that? After Spinks he smashed Bruno in 5 and Williams in 1. No speculation at all. Everyone thought he was just fine and dandy, the excuses came AFTER Douglas exposed him.

    Would that be the same " murderous " puncher that has a KO % of 66, compared to say Vitali's 87, Bruno's 84, Lewis's 72, or how about Foreman's 84?

    In a word yes.

Neither of them stalked around the ring with nervous energy trying to look intimidating. They just stood and stared at the other guy like psychopaths.

I know you cant read this, but if you continue to ignore everyone you insult or dont agree with, you wont be involved in many discussions such as this. Thats perfectly fine as far as I am concerned.

guess this is the first fight where it shows that Iron Mike wasn't the same any more... His life was starting to fall apart. He had fired his old coach a couple of months before and has a new corner. To notice is the face that Iron Mike fails to hit Bruno several times and iron mike hits very few uppercuts.
    Round 1 - Tyson wobbles
Round 2 - opportunity to finish Frank Bruno but misses most of the hits
Round 3 - Normal round for mike
Round 4 - Bruno hits him with a left hand and normally mike would go with a left hand and a right upper cut but he seems slower. probably because he's only trying to hit from distance.
Round 5 - misses too much but then... upper cuts inside and finally iron mike finishes him in style with body hits and uppercuts! But unfortunately this is the beginning of the end.
