When Haye had a toe injury against Wladimir, they kept dismissing it as an excuse. But when Vitali looks bad against Chisora, they blame it on Vitali injured hand.

Much as the toe was a crap excuse, there is still a difference between running and planting your feet to land a punch. Horses for courses though.

big difference from running and plating to your foot and pushing off your toe in order to land a punch.

if he had a broken toe that caused major pain then he shouldnt have been fighting, simple as.

Haye is a bit of a joke.

But hes in good company on a thread about him and a Klit.

Not that simple though. Ignoring the bull****, and assuming the toe injury did affect his performance, if he'd pulled out of the fight at short notice, he'd still have people like you saying he was a ***** and should've fought regardless. Lose/lose. He'd already had criticism for Klitschko fights falling through. On the other hand, IF he'd beaten Wlad and THEN said he'd had a broken toe, people would be saying "what a warrior". Can't please people.

you know, Haye is welcome anytime to post his old xray on esb to shut 'people like me' up. He was welcome to mention a toe problem to a dcotor so there was a bona fide medical record of it before the fight too. He didnt, and he hasnt, but so easily could have - it would be the first instinct to see a doctor if you have a fracture, its not rocket science for even a boxer.

If I'd broken a toe, I wouldtn be fighting. Its as false an excuse as Joe Calzaghe moaning about his hand being fractured going into fights. Go get an xray of it beforehand, dont flaunt it when it turns out you had a tough fight. Its what anyone with any sense does.

I bear no personal hate for Haye but his action makes him a joke, so I hope you dont consider me one of those people.

if he had a broken toe..he wouldn't of been able to do both

    Just read this:

Hampered by the pain? My foot! Former Liverpool physio Leather on Haye's toe.

When David Haye skipped around the ring, you did not think you were looking at boxer hampered by injury - and the biomechanics of his argument do not stand up.
Think about the way a right-handed fast bowler charges towards the crease. He puts his left foot down to provide balance and stability then brings his right arm over to generate power, and those methods roughly apply to throwing a punch in boxing.
Had David tried to push off his right foot to throw his 'Hayemaker' he would have been off balance. Equally, you use the ball of your foot to provide thrust, not so much your little toe.
David would have been most affected by his injury when trying to duck and dive away from Wladimir Klitschko's incessant jabbing, as constantly shifting your weight from left to right could certainly aggravate the problem. It takes between four to six weeks for a broken toe to heal but there is little that can be done to protect it. Padding could be applied underneath the foot to ease the pressure but having a cast is impractical.
I have treated footballers with similar injuries and, yes, you can anaesthetise the area but that tends to last only up to 90 minutes. If David had something similar before leaving his dressing room he would have definitely felt discomfort towards the end of the fight.
Had the injury been really serious he would have had no problem pulling out of the fight. Regardless of the nightmare it would have been for promoters, television companies and fans, a doctor's report would have clearly stated he could not compete.
If it was bad, how did he train fully for the three weeks before? Or was his normal training routine changed?

    Klitschko excuses are as follows:
Vitali was hurt (quitting against Byrd)
Vitali took the fight on short notice (loss to old fat Lewis)
That was a bad stoppage (Wlad falls over 3 times after getting cranked in the chin by Sanders)
Wlad was poisoned (after Brewster cracks him on the chin with flush left hook)
Wlad was too green (although already had over 30 fights and was a world champion, also Sanders fight)
