Will David Haye fight once before June? I think it would be wise to get in there with a 6'6" 240 + pounder before going after Vitali. Maybe McCline, hell maybe Briggs will come out for a meeting with Haye. Whoever it is I think Haye needs a fight with a big man before the Vitali showdown. Any thoughts on who, and does anyone know if he's planning on fighting before June?

McCline would be far too dangerous, realistically that will not happend so.

Maybe an easy fight with a bum like Julius Long.

No, Haye should not have a warm-up fight, the guys mentioned are far too dangerous for Haye, Briggs is one of the most powerful punchers still fighting, most 1st round knockouts of any former Heavyweight champ. He may be nothing after the first couple rounds, but trust me, Haye may find himself in a world of danger early on, Briggs is one hell of a counter puncher, and Haye dont keep his guard up enough.

McCline could also be a tough bout, the guy has surprising power, flooring such names as Bryd, Briggs, Peter, and Brock. The guy got power, just not the stamina to finish off his oppenents, but with Haye's questionable chin, anythings possible.

I think big guys like Austin or McBride are better choices, less risk IMO.

Last time I saw Haye speak... he said that he would NOT fight before he fought Vitali.

I am surprised he is taking a title shot so quickly.

Maybe Lennox will put on a pair of platforms for the sparring sessions...

Good points you guys have, I think he should fight someone though, Maybe Austin would be his best choice, but if he doesnt wanna fight then he wont lol.

What continues to baffle me is that we are talking about fighters like Briggs and McCline being "too dangerous" for Haye, and yet he is going to step into the ring with Vitali. This forum is further proof that Haye getting the fight with Vitali is extremely premature.

I think Haye would be able to beat McCline. If he can't then he won't stand a chance against Vitali.

One bad night could equal millions of dollars less in your bank account, why take that chance when you dont have to? Yes, Briggs and McCline are dangerous spoilers, just ask Sam Peter who took on Jamel on short notice and was almost derailed from getting a title opertunity, after being floored 3 times against McCline and just barely managed to get the victory. As far as Briggs is concerned, the guy is a huge puncher, and given Haye's questionable chin, Briggs is one of the last guys I want in there with my fighter.

You're on dodgy ground if you accept the views of the forum as 'proof' of anything.

Unsurprising, since if he gets clipped again on that *cough* jaw and goes down, him fighting Vitali will look pretty silly, pointless actually.
