Completed the Adidas half marathon Sunday just gone, but since then my left knee is ****ing kiling me when walking or doing anything.

Anyone had knee problems before and have any clues as to what it could be?

The pain is central/towards the inside of the knee cap itself. Not sure if its just a type of overuse injury or something different. Dont want to go to the GP if its going to go of its own accord in a few more days.

    Anyone had anything similar?

Rest it, ice it, stretch your quads, hammies, calves and ITB (as long as the stretches don't irritate it). See if it settles down within a few days. It could be any number of things, and is not necessarily serious.

I've got bad knees and have run quite a few races from half-marathon to ultra marathon. One thing I've learned is that if you go to the GP, they'll just tell you to rest it, ice it etc, and come back if it doesn't get better in a week or two.

i think i got the same problem, i think you sprained your medial ligament, stopped running for 2 weeks and thought it was gone, went running yesterday and now its back.

I've got a groin injury at the moment. They are the worst... they seemingly never recover. Ah well.

You had this problem before or is it just recently it started?

Want to know if there is anything I can do to prevent it flaring up again. I stretched well before the run, not so good after it!

Let us know if you find anything out :good

it could be ur joint cuz on the knee i dislocated i get the pain inside , like behind the knee cap
    or cartrilage damage
but i dont think it'll b related to not stretching

Knee pain is complex and can be due to many different causes - including hip and ankle problems manifesting as knee pain. It's difficult to get a correct answer to the cause. you should see a physio/doctor to find out how to get rid of it, otherwise it could very well get worse and take longer to get better.

Try --- "Pennsaid" (topical anti inflammatory)

    Rest.

    Then swimming.

If getting better, dont forget to stretch.
