Recently, I began noticing small pinches on my knee. I ignored them since the friction was barely noticeable. It's been about a month now and friction is still around. Not worse, but not better either. I was looking into supplements (glucosamine) to help with the joints, but was wondering what you guys have used in such cases other than ice packs.

    you tried stretching?

i heard that doing lots of bodyweight squats, full way down not half squats, will strengthen your knee joints...

read stories of old people with bad knees started doing bodyweight squats full way down helped there knees get stronger.

    Biking.

i had that problem when i was running alot, after some reseach online i concluded it was a muscle imbalance and started including 1 day of biking a week along with my running.

im not sure if it really was a mucsle imbalance or if biking helps strengthen the knees but the pain went away after i started biking.

stretch well, especially the hip flexor
get a massage or self massage your it bands, glutes, quads, lower back
ice is to be used straight after exercise
its probably nothing really, niggles are to be expected with intense training, break up your training with some easier weeks occasionally.
