and that's a good thing. Freaking prima donna ALWAYS left the ring after he would get beat, but would ALWAYS stay when he won. I'm really surprised he stuck around for this one. Anyhow, he's probably one of the most overrated boxers of the last 10-15 years. Glad he got his ass whooped again and in front of his fans too. Makes me really happy.
I just got caught up with the fight, scored it a draw. Granted, I would've had Ali winning if I'd given him the 2nd based on his very short-lived pocket of success in the round, but I thought Cotto did the consistently good work over the course of the session and he wasn't hurt enough to sway it for me. I perceived a dip in the functional quality of Cotto's left hand during the 8th, and he never won a round after that point (make of it what you will). While it was a fight of no overall consequence, with the official verdict mattering little, it was a characteristically entertaining Cotto bout, providing flashbacks from the arc of his career, and was therefore a fitting swan song. R1 10-9 Cotto R2 10-9 Cotto R3 10-9 Cotto R4 10-9 Ali R5 10-9 Cotto R6 10-9 Cotto R7 10-9 Cotto R8 10-9 Ali R9 10-9 Ali R10 10-9 Ali R11 10-9 Ali R12 10-9 Ali Cotto 114-114 Ali
