Knew it! Ali would have owned Tyson Fury! Modern day giant argument nonsense

Yes, LOL is my reaction to your claim that a 6'7 man with long arms would beat Frazier of all people in a phone booth.

Wanna make a poll so the whole forum can laugh?

Usyk started as a middleweight in the amateurs and was still a cruiserweight well into his 30's.

No, he was not "significantly bigger" than Ali. He wasn't bigger at all. Ali started as a light heavy in the amateurs and filled out as a shredded 215 lbs in his early 20's. By the time of his comeback he had to kill himself in training to stay below 220 and was walking around at 230. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Usyk would have been more average sized in the 70s, and I think that's the point here.

Not to mention, Usyk isn't all that lean at 223. Or maybe he just has an unaesthetic build? But I could swear, the only difference between him and, say, FOTC Ali (where Ali was absolutely jacked and shredded, probably the best he ever looked physically) is 7bs of fat.

Ali is significantly more lean and impressive at the 220 range than Usyk. Well defined biceps, forearms, abs, etc. way bigger and stronger legs too.

You're right, Usyk just doesn't have the most eye catching build and has a fairly smooth and plain physique. He isn't out of shape or grotesque by any means, just fairly average.

All in all, they're fairly similar in terms of their absolute literal size in terms of height and weight, but to suggest Usyk is the "naturally" bigger of the two is pretty funny.

Or do the really unfair thing and compare Usyk to Norton, who is also roughly the same size.

Make all the polls that you want. You can get 100% of the forum to vote for Frazier beating Vitali and I'll still know that you are wrong.

And I'll know you don't know **** about boxing and are a fanboy. Frazier was arguably the best inside fighter on the planet. Vitali...not so much. Vitali would have an extremely hard time getting leverage on his punches in a literal phone booth while Frazier would feel right at home.

Ali and Fury would clinch each other to death

    Styles make fights

and nobody can predict these things.

This is not the time to denigrate Fury. This is time to celebrate two ATG heavyweights in Usyk & Fury.

They both pushed each other over the line to greatness...and their rematch no doubt will be another testament to that before they retire

and then we will all be very upset having boring plodders left...

appreciate Fury & Usyk whilst they're here...they could very well be gone next week if Fury turns around and retires. Usyk would follow. We'll never see two originals like this again. Total pioneers in their own right.

THIS. If Ken Norton can beat Ali arguably THREE times… bet your ass Usyk can beat him too. And more decisively.

    Bad example though.

Fury is huge but he doesn't really use his size "well"

A good analogy would be Dirk/Jokic and Shaq.

Shaq straight up uses his size to post you up and bully you in the paint, whereas Dirk will kill you from the outside, and Jokic is straight up creative. The latter 2 doesn't really play like the traditional "big man". Sure, they have the size advantage to let them be even more dominant in their game, but they aren't really using it in a 'traditional' sense. Just like Fury, he moves and keeps you at bay with his footwork and creative punching, but doesn't really use his weight nor have enough power to bully you.

I legit think a fighter like Zhang if he had the right promotional machine behind him earlier and he reached his full potential, he would have been one of the best H2H.

    *edit*
To add, if size didn't matter, why does so many posters on a "hardcore fan" boxing forum like this bring up Haney and SO many others "weight bullying" so much? Clearly it matters. I understand at 210+ lbs its diminishing returns for weight/height advantage, but it just comes down to the soft mentality fighters like Joshua ans Fury has, and the talent pool not being as large as the lower divisions. I am sorry, but a prime Vitali would absolutely murder Ali. This is coming from a person that is very nostalgic.

How isn't he better fhan Fury? Because Fury beat a 40 year old Wlad? Come on dude you know a prime Witherspoon would of knocked out a 40 year old Wlad just like Corrie Sanders knocked out a prime Wlad.

Wlad wasn't prime he fought completely different post Steward and dominated. Wlad was already losing before Sanders he wasn't all that back then. Plus Sanders had way more power than Witherspoon. I mean I won't rule it out Wlad was chinny but I can't see him being a favorite
