I don't know if 7 is the record. If it is, then Dempsey Willard would be tied with Patterson-Johansson 1. Johansson knocked Patterson down 7 times in round 3, and was only stopped after Ingemar's manager run to the referee and shouted "Do you want him to kill the guy?!!"

Disgraceful job by the ref, especially as Floyd was totally out of it after the first knockdown.

Dempsey was a really good fighter.... What excludes him from my favorites is that he refused to fight black fighters... I mean cmon man, even if you win or lose... dont be a *****, be a man and take on the strongest warriors

Other than that, dempsey is one of my faves, He grew up in a hobo camp.. Became a great brawler, and was actually a smart dude.... They way he destroy willard showed how good of a fighter he was.... Im just always confused as to why he didnt want to fight black fighters... As a man... Dont you want to test yourself against the best?????

anyway, i heard he broke willards ribs, jaw, cheek, and knocked out a few teeth.... Demps was more of a street fighter than a boxer in my opinion :good

That one was really nasty. Several hits culminating in:

...and a faceplant on the canvas.

But like you say, staggered back up by the count of 8.
Ref waved it off though, definitely the wise thing to do.

I was pretty surprised when Jermain Taylor got up when Carl Froch scored the KD. Taylor looked ****ing done when he was on the mat, massive credit to him for dragging himself up when he was in no fit state and taking more punishment just trying to get to the final bell.

And I was shocked when Mosley got up and lasted the round vs Forrest and Pavlik got up and lasted the round vs Taylor.

Not so sure about that. Yes, he got up but the ref changed a 10 seconds count into a 16 seconds to help him survive and he then quit at the end of the next round.

Has anyone mentioned George Foreman getting knocked down by ron Lyle? He looked dead after that knockdown.

I was at that fight. Was a great show.

Great conditioning will do that to a guy. Bradley is short and compact and built like a tank.
