Here is a question for the experts on historical trivia. What fighter holds the record for knocking out guys who had never been stopped before? And, what is the record number?
Could be. Danny only won 3 decisions in his entire career. A correct answer would require more research than I am willing to do. I'm hoping one of our history gurus already knows the answer.
I would be surprised if the answer is not Peter Maher! I have just checked with BoxRec... and according to them he knocked out 60 men (give or take a couple, if I haven't counted correctly), who had never been stopped before.
Lamar Clark has to be up there, I think he knocked out a load of men who had never fought before, nevermind knocked out.
off the top of my head, amoung world heavyweight champions against at that time rated contenders and former champions it has to be joe louis. paulino uzcudun, max baer, braddock, galento all had tough durable reputations.
The thing is, if Danny could out-box a guy, he could land the right hand, and if he could land the right, the guy got knocked out:yep Thus the incredibly low number of decision wins. On the subect of knock outs, there's "knocked out," and then there's KNOCKED THE **** OUT! Most of Danny's opponents ended up in the latter category.
