Aaron Davis knocked out Mark Breland with a big right about ten seconds after the commentators said something along the lines of 'Davis must be carrying an injury, he's fought left handed for about the last three rounds.'

His right eye was in horrible shape too and although a really weak looking Breland got hurt in every round, the fight could have been stopped at any time.

That fight is on Youtube in very good quality.

For me, that KO epitomizes what boxing is, how swift and brutal everything can be shattered by someone with technique and belief.

That Weaver-Tate fight is on my to-watch list, but haven't seen it yet, as well as the Nelson-Cowdell. That just made the list, too.

I like all mentioned, but the Curry-McCrory, McCallum-Curry, and Pacquiao-Hatton KO's are among my favorites mentioned...

I'll add Hearns-Duran; Hearns at his devastating best. I love the immediate hush of the crowd and then explosion of cheers and whoa's following the crack of that right hand landing...

I'll also add, for modern time's sake, the recent Martinez-Williams KO. Even for avid boxing fans, to see a man (supposedly elite level) get hit and fall face-first, out before he hits the canvas, and out cold with his eyes open, is a rarity.

 

One of my favorites is Jersey Joe ko'ing Ezzard Charles. Jersey Joe shuffling forward, slips a punch and counters with a devastating left. Charles out cold.

I think the one that stands out for me and really stayed on my mind was Barkley-Hearns. Completely bloodied, battered and dominated Barkley suddenly connects with an absolute nuke and as Hearns fell like a tree Barkley threw another right that had Hearns unravel like a clothesline.

But I once saw Al Bummy Davis ko Suggs with his vaunted left hook, which made
