There was a British fighter in the 80's vs an Argentinian . Thought it was going to be an easy night , however in the 10th a looinpg overhand right followed up by a straight right and it was face first game over.

Damn, that's the best female knockout I've seen. I guess what they generally lack in power the ladies make up for in not being able to take it. And that 'related' cagefighting 'tko' clip shows a big reason why it will never have the appeal boxing does. There's no such thing as a knockout in mma.

Interesting thing about Mrjenovich-Gerula III was that this was the second time that Jelena had scored a face-plant KO of Gerula with a left hook. Here's a clip of their first fight.

I don't. But if a knockout is being knocked down and not able to get up before the count of 10 there can't be a knockout in mma, only technical knockouts. Right? And mma seems to agree because I've come across countless references from mma media and fans referring to 'tkos', but not kos. Which is bit ridiculous, using the qualifier for something that can't exist. Makes it seem like mma is trying to legitimise itself by comparing itself to boxing.

Anyway, my point is I watched a clip of 'best women mma knockouts' after that women's boxing ko... and it included a woman flinching from what were pushes more than punches, an elbowing ground stoppage, and the novelty of a spinning kick. It was pretty comical. There was nothing in it to come close to the aesthetic clarity of a boxer landing a knockout blow. A perfectly trained closed fist in a protected glove is able to land on someone's head and switch his brain off like nothing in human existence.

If you don't watch it then dont make a statement on it, there are plenty of knockouts in MMA. Not TKOs, KOs. Plenty of times in boxing a fighter is KOd and not given a ten count because he is completely out.
