Not at all. There's plenty out there that he beats IMO. I just named ones who I thought would beat him.
Given the shitty last half dozen years of Tyson's career, his image is totally twisted. Other than Foreman and Liston, I cant think of another who had an air of invincibility at the 'height' of his career.... even though the 'height' was called prematurely.
While I don't necessarily disagree with you, he has nobody to blame but himself. He was on the verge of greatness and completely ruined it.
As I was reading through the main forum I found this quote "In all sports, people love the flawed genius. Tyson is the ultimate flawed genius. He's a one off character, so many funny stories, quotes, moments. And he beat the **** out of people, which appeals to men, we are all impressed by a genuine borderline psycho hardman." I think this sums up Tyson I got into boxing because of Tyson on ODH late 80s early 90s so I always got a soft spot for him
The other thing I loved about Tyson was that he had 13 or 14 fights per year including is first world title. Ok most of his first 26 fights had kos in the first few rounds but still you dont see that in boxing anymore....26 fights in 2 years that is
Anybody been to 1770 on the QLD coast? I have been here for the last week taking in the sun, sand, beach...most northen surf beach...and all that goes with that...lots of backpackers. Sitting on the deck drinking beerz and doing the BBQ listening to the waves on the beach......arrrr peace.....nice place to relax.
G'day boxing buddies.... I have thrown a few comments around and thought when this thread popped up to get involved so you know who I am.... Name: Jason Location: Perth, Australia. Occupation: Mechanical Fitter, Fitter Machinist and currently a business manager. Fight experience: Got all self conscious one day when it was mentioned i had the begginings of a spare tyre going on and so jogged 6k's to the Italian Club in Darwin to check out a cheap gym ($2 per session) 1996. Got totally infatuated with the whole thing and jogged 2 days a week there and back, lost about 12kg doing it and after 4 months put my hand up and had 1 ammature fight at 71kgs. The 1 and only. Kept up sparring and training till I left to Melbourne and then trained and spared there at Leo Berry's for about 18 months. These days an avid watcher, love the game. Favourite Boxer(s): Kostya Tszu, Lennox Lewis, Vic Darchynian, Danny Green, Robbie Peden & a **** load more... Other interests: Music all types, Cricket (playing), Aussie Rules, Books, Movies and preparing to be a dad.
