As far as making 170 goes, let's not forget that this will hurt Tito to some extent as well. True, dropping Puerto Rican beach and frijole weight is not the same as muscle mass, but we'll only know if he trimmed down the right way on the day of the weigh-in. And he needs to be in the best shape of his life, because the odds are great that he gets torched during the first half of the fight.

No way does Tito successfully bulldog Roy. His style is not about swarming, and he doesn't have anything close to the Road Warrior's physical strength.

Roy by UD, if Tito isn't "saved by Papa" late.

Doubt it. His free shot, while jarring Mayorga, failed to even wobble him.

If Mayorga stuck his chin out for Glen, his ass would hit the canvas.

Your examination is more than a little biased.

Like I said, you calling them chumps doesn't make them chumps. I said leave out your opinion and you didn't.

At LHW alone, Jones fought 13 Top 10 contenders and 9 champions (12-13 if we use the criteria YOU used during our Hearns debate)

At SMW, Byrd was ranked as was Pazienza and of course, so was James Toney.

The chump fighter that Jones fought after Hopkins was Mulinga, who would later win the SMW title against Nigel Benn...what a chump right?

All in all, of the 28 fighters than Jones fought after Hopkins 19 were Top 10 ranked or champions. Those are facts. And I don't call top 10 fighters and champs chumps.

You can call them whatever you like from this point on, but the FACTS say you're incorrect. If the top 10 fighters and champions are bums and chumps, then who are the good fighters? And who should Jones fight? Guys OUTSIDE the top 10 and none of the champions? Will that suffice?

    Not top 100.....lol. Sure.

Depends what he's got left at this stage. Certainly at prime, he can pick the round to KO Tito, and with either hand.

    Watch these two demolition jobs:

Glen Kelly (undefeated in 29 fights) single-shot,

    hand KO

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3T-J5s3KIw

Montel Griffin (27-0-0, including Toney) single-shot,

    hand KO

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYvkhdQRYL0

The two above. And Jones' other victims included Hopkins(22-1-0), Toney(44-0-2), Hill(43-2-0), Harding(19-0-1), Harmon(20-1-0), Gonzalez(27-0-0), Woods (32-1-0) and Ruiz(38-4-1, including Holyfeld).

That's 10, for starters, 5 of them undefeated. Their combined record (300-9-5)

    Tito's resume pales by comparison.

I already gave him this comparison 3-4 times in the past year. He hates Jones and will just come back and call them bums or chumps, his choice word of the week, regardless of where they were ranked or if they were champs or not.

Anyone who ranks Jones outside the top 100 all time can't be taken seriously on the subject of Jones.

Actually, watching clips like those while trying to objectively cap this fight is a no-no. I love watching vintage Roy also, but let's be honest. He ain't what he used to be.

That being said, I do believe he can have spectacular moments against Tito. But can he string together enough spectacular moments to win rounds, or just enough to keep Tito off of him? If I watch old tape to make the decision, I'll trick myself into thinking Roy scores a first round KO. Five years ago, this fight was a joke.

My points in responding with that post were:

    (1) we can't attach much significance to this fight, no matter what the outcome. If they're both shot, it's a bit meaningless.

    (2) Prime Roy annhialates any version of Tito.

Jones didn't look that bad in his last two fights and took some head shots from Hanshaw and Ajamu, who have at least a moderate degree of power, without getting hurt. His speed seems completely intact, his power a little faded and his legs a little more faded. That said, he is still very much an elite level fighter. Christ, the way some people talk around here it is like Jones hasn't been in the ring since Jones v. Johnson or is just coming off of yet another loss.

I think this fight is completely meaningless and more importantly is a waste of what little time Roy has left if he wants another title shot. That said, to assume that super faded and rusty Tito has even a puncher's chance at 170 displays little more than abject hatred of Jones in the face of logic.
