Known cases of loaded / tampered gloves

    How many known, documented cases have there been involving loaded or tampered gloves? I can only think of 2-3, one of which is a rumor afaik.
    The rumor was that Jack Dempsey had plaster of paris for his fight with poor Jess Willard (I think it was Willard). Lord knows based on the savage beating Jess took it certainly seems possible.
    The most infamous example that is a known fact is Panama Lewis removing the padding from Luis Resto’s gloves before his fight with Billy Collins. Poor Billy’s face was butchered and he sadly was overcome with depression and took his own life months later.
    The other case is Margarito being caught with inserts prior to the Mosely bout.
    Are there other cases?

    It's highly suspected that Fitzsimmons put something in his gloves for his rematch with Jeffries

    Loading the gloves or altering them is perhaps the worst sin in boxing.

    I remember something about Felix Trinidad doin something like that, but I think they caught him before the fight started , Marg against Cotto

    If you’re referencing the Hopkins fight then my understanding was that Hopkins trainer rightly pointed out that Tito’s wraps were illegal in the state of New York and he had to rewrap his hands, but there was nothing tampered or loaded about the gloves.

    The loaded gloves idea with the Dempsey Willard fight has been proven a falsehood 50 or more years ago. Kearns wrote an article where he described sprinkling plaster of Paris on Dempsey’s hand wraps. However this was disproven almost immediately:

    Eye witness who watched Dempsey’s hands being wrapped saw none of this.

    Dempsey walked into the ring ungloved and Willard’s corner examined his wrapped hands.

    Photos of Dempsey sitting in his corner before the fight showed only thinly padded wraps. Nothing unusual.

    Finally as a modern experiment they tried the plaster of Paris loading on Cleveland Williams. The plaster easily crumbled upon initial impact. The conclusion was it would not have helped Dempsey’s punching power.

    The spike claim has been disproven for 50 or more years.

    Fitz's hands were inspected by Jeffries in the ring prior to them gloving up.Fitz was not in possession of the gloves until he was wearing
    them.

    The claim that Kearns dusted his wraps with plaster of paris is total crap Kearns did not even wrap Dempsey hands Jimmy Deforest did.Kearns made the claim later when he was suing Dempsey.

    Here's a question

    If loaded gloves or wraps is assault, why isn't PED use?

    Both violate the agreed terms of the contest, so other than pervaisiveness, and how hard they are to catch, it's hard to come up with much difference
