Are you wrapping your Hands correctly. So that you can actually make a proper Fist, its surprising how many dont. They usually put to much bandage on the plam so the fists dont close and the mets spring, check it out. Also what moves the fingers are the Tendons in the elbow, they might have tightened up and are restricting, closing the fingers easely. things that havent been mentioned. :good
Kill something is an ignorant ****. Strenghthen ur hands and fingers gradually. I can hit a 125 bag wearing 8oz gloves with no wraps. But I built my hand over the years. U may even want 2 buy a makiwara board. Of course hit it lightly then building with time and ur not having any hand problems b4 u attempt it.
i always make sure that i can see my palm. ill try a few thing see what works and ill let u know ill just grit my teeth and get on with it
Yeah but...um...nevermind. I've got nothing. Just do what this guy says, clearly he's a ninja. I mean...he's capable of HITTING A HEAVYBAG WITH GLOVES ON. This took him years of practice though, so don't just try it right away, god only knows what might happen to you. ****in' Texans...
I started only going over the knuckles one time, and that's actually behind the knuckles. I still wrap between my fingers though. It's been working pretty well. Something about going too tight/too many times over the knuckles/palm makes the wraps tighten up when you make a fist, and it restricts the ligaments from moving correctly, so they're in the wrong place when you hit something. Do it enough and it damages them.
Google it Jr. Handwraps r only going 2 do so much. But don't listen 2 me kill something seems 2 know everything there is 2.
I had the same problem, i would make pads using gauze. roll the gauze into 4 inch pads 1 roll should be enough for both pads and put those under your hand wraps. also IMF tech gloves are GREAT for hand protection if you don't have the money for winning gloves.
mate i dont have time to read the other posts but i'm involved in amateur boxing down here in oz. the powers that be in the coaching world in my state sent us out an article that looked at a study that has found alot of hand injuries in the gym happen as a result of incorrectly wrapped hands. as a result we now no longer wrap between the knuckles. this actually separates, that is, spreads the knuckles and damages the tendons in between. the pain however is mostly refered so as to feel as if its coming from the actually knuckle. maybe this isnt the particular concern you have but it probably rates a mention for others
it was actually a hard copy given at the coaches re-fresher course earlier in the year. i'll try and find it and either scan in or find it on line
don't you just love martial artists? they all think they're experts on boxing. they look at the sport and think that because, compared to most martial arts boxing is very lineal (for want of a better word), they think that makes it simple, ie that they know all about it. one of my favourite past times was getting these sorts of martial artists in the ring - boxing rules only - and show them the difference. nothing better than counter and check hooking a karate man for 3minutes. although before you all get impression i drink my own bath water i was on occasion bettered by those that were just better fighters period but never without proving the point - don't bring you dojo philophies into a boxing gym
Getting your hands wrapped correctly is very important. I paid the price having a poor trainer and I managed to break my hands 4 times in one year. My right hand now is still causing me problems, even when I play video games or pick up heavy things.
contact ross enamait on his website, that dude broke his hand like 5 times but then after working with some sports scientists etc he managed to regain full strength and functionality, he usually replies to emails pretty quick.
Winning's NG-2 Gel knuckle guards. http://winning-usa.com/extraitems.html amazing stuff. juan manuel marquez, vargas, and many others are known to use these in training. you can see marquez wearing them in his 24/7 videos.
