I like them because normal pushups put undue strain on my wrists. They won't hurt you, that's for sure. So do em!
they will hurt at first, but under the stress , over time bones will grow stronger due to calcification to meet the demands of the stress placed upon the body, in saying that, same applys for hitting the bag face pushups are great for preparing the body to take shots hahaha
I have known this to be an age old karate technique. I know my technique changes when I do it, it is not a whole like a regular push up. Scrap has an interesting point but i feel strong benefit doing them so I'll have to keep it in mind.
