Oscar De La Hoya has announced that the most spectacular knock out on the Alvarez V Lopez card, will receive a $100,000 bonus. Winner will be decided by public vote. Good idea? I think it creates a fun factor to what could be an awesome night of boxing. I couldn't pick who would win the bonus oout of the 4 fights they all have a good chance of spectacular KO!
I think it's a good idea. It's the norm in Bangkok in the MT stadiums to get fight bonuses for various things form not just the promoter but gambling punters in the crowd to, livens things up a bit in those final rounds. :yep Although, I don't like the X factor sounding "public vote".
It's a great idea but a public vote is stupid. You may as well have most popular knockout. A couple of years back on sky's knockout of the year they had it down to a public vote and one of the 'trainers' involved had it plastered all over his Facebook 'vote for this'- and no doubt rang in 100 times himself. The knockout won and whilst it was a big upset it was certainly not the most spectacular.
Basics must be lower and a host of performance based add ons made standard. Even making weight could be given a little bonus, then winning, kos, kds, etc Fighters are lazy and need a wake up call
Good idea, anything that improves the veiwing . Incentive to fight hard and punch hard, whats wrong with that?
