What do you all consider Knockout Power because I see alot of people saying that Pac has all this KO power but the only person who he's KO'd was Hatton which if you seen 2 years before he did it floyd did it. Now im not saying that manny doesn't have power but to put him on a pedal-stool like he has this one punch Iron Mike KO power is just absurd IMO.....Feel free to post your thoughts because as I said I wanna see what everyone views as KO power

SN: I don't want this to turn into a hate thread toward any boxer, just wanna get ESB posters view on KO power

pac finishes his opponents by volume and decent power. not one punch ko power. he wears them down gradually.

your'e right, he doesn't have one punch KO power as such; the shot he caught hatton with just landed perfectly and it's the ones you dont see coming that will put your lights out.
i've no doubt he has brutal power but more so when he lands those savage combos (ie against cotto, margarito).
im not sure there are that many 'one-punch KO artists' active at present. its a tricky one to quantify. obviously alot of the current boxers with high KO ratios have power but off the top of my head, donnaire is probably the one with the heaviest hands in terms of single shot damage....?

I agree with above poster.....he has accumulative power, not 1 punch power....that is unless he catches the guy cold or unguarded.

Same goes for Floyd except he brings his power in the CP.

Both seem to wear the bigger men down over the rounds and then finish them with late flurries.

IMO, the Margarito fight was a good win for Pac although Marg's was exposed by Mosely and later by Cotto.

And the Hatton fight was a great KO win for both Floyd and Pac, as a tough Tzsyu couldn't do it......just wish we coulda seen Hatton and Gatti.....wow, would that have been a fight.:deal

Ok like I said this is not a hate thread but people wasn't talking about Pac being an all time great until after the ODLH fight and since he got a KO of Hatton and a 12th round tko of Cotto so why does people think he could KO the likes of Mayweather or Martinez when he couldn't KO the same old Mosley that people said FMJ couldn't KO or even knockdown the same old blown up(142 against floyd as a limit, but a limit of 147 against Pac)Marquez at 147?? That's if he has this great power all try to make him out to have

Thats what I always thought but since pac has become this big name now it seems alls you have to do is KO one person from one punch and you get thrown into convo's with big george and iron mike smh.....but its not just pac you have other most notable Martinez

he had power to hurt cotto, clottey, marg, and shane. that's about the chance some are giving him against floyd. stylewise, floyd is all wrong for manny. there is a thread by bogo with great discussion about how pac can also give floyd some trouble styewise.

what's playing with people's minds here probably is that shane was able to hurt floyd whereas pac was able to put shane on his ass. which could mean pac could possibly hurt floyd if he lands cleanly.

Power is a strange thing in boxing

there are he obvious KO bruisers like Shavers and Foreman who do KO a lot of fighters

then there are build up accumulation guys like Pac, and Margo and Vitali

then there are pressure fighters or swarmers with low KO percentages like Lamotta or Juan Diaz

Juan Diaz seemed ti hit very hard, his shots often connected solidly and generated loud pops when they landed he obviously had power but was not a knockout guy

KO power is generated by accuracy, timing, and momentum

even a guy like Malinaggi could KO somebody if he lands a shot the guy doesnt see coming flush on the chin with the guy walking directly into it

thats why you see guys score an uncharacteristic KO once in awhile like Pac Koing Hatton early

or guys like Shavers and Foreman not being able to KO Ali or Jimmy Young because they could see the shots coming and prepare themselves

Agreed Im not taking anything away from any of the fighter's Im just tryna figure out how people put all these people up on this level of power that they have and I should of put Khan in there instead of Pac since I cant remember the last time he KO'd a fighter period let a lone a top guy

Difference is that wasn't the first time Shane's been put on his pamper and we know floyd doesn't have that KO power but IMO Margo hurt Pac more then vise versa and You people seem to overrate pacs boxing skills everyone Pac fights besided Marquez is taylor made for Pac period like it or not he fights them and he wins so give him respect but as you see when he steps in the ring with a Natural Boxer he's not good let alone ATG

    Why deride Hatton's chin?
Kosta hit him with his best shots.

Hatton was lucky not to be comatized from that punch. Was down for how long?

The word you are looking for is pedestal.

Pac is a heavy handed high-volume accumulation puncher & not a KO artist.
