Being a KO artist is a very dangerous thing. How many were KOed while in the act of throwing their own haymaker?
Lets be honest Kostya most memorable win was his KO of Judah before that he had fought nobody and before Kostya Hatton hadn't fought anybody himself
Pacquiao hasn't got one punch KO power, but he does have the sort of stinging/raw power to change the momentum of the bout entirely. Somewhere in between the 'accumulative puncher and KO artist' people are labeling him as in this thread. This content is protected
So why does people think he could KO floyd????? Kuz the hell what all these people who DKSAB say Shane has alot more one punch KO power than Pac and alot more boxing skills then Pac Period.....Pac gets stop's because he keeps giving Bob Most of his Money
Proper one shot fight ending power is rare. Donaire has this. Edison Miranda has this. Randall Bailey has this. I'd even say that KP and Bute have serious stopping power. Manny has fight changing but not fight ending power, not at 147 in any case.
Damn straight. The boy could clean KO an iron chinned fighter with 1 punch......but I gotta think it had a lot to do wiht the angles he threw his power from.:deal
Mosely is bigger, stronger & hit harder than Pac but he is shot now & cant pull the trigger anymore. I'd also agree that Mosely was more skilled but both guys depend more on athletic & physical gifts than technique. A lot of people who think Pac will KO Floyd are shameless fanboys with no perspective. I dont think it would happen because he doesnt have enough pop to take out Floyd with 1 big shot & Floyd is very adept at surviving if hurt. The only realistic way he could stop Floyd is by building up a lot of damage but I doubt he'll be able to catch him often enough to do so. I am a fan of Pac who is an exciting fighter to watch but Floyd would toy with him all night if they ever fought which they never will.
Probably, but even when straight in front of a boxer he could KO them (the Kelley finish). Hamed was great to watch because he somehow carried his power, not only through crazy angles, but a fair distance also...you would think his opponent was out of reach whilst back pedalling, and he'd land on the chin with a shot that didn't even look that powerful, and knock them down (hurt).
Too many fans try to classify "KO power" as being able to knock anyone out cold, for the full 10 count and unconscious for several minutes after. Every fighters punch resistance is different and not all punches land the same. I agree with an earlier poster about having the ability to change a fight with a single punch. Pacman I believe simply caught Hatton cold while Hatton was already hurt and coming forward with no defense that night. That does not mean that he will drop cold every fighter he lands cleanly against. Nor does that mean he will often land that cleanly with every opponent. He had a year to load up with that shot due to Hatton's bad defense. Foreman is known as a big puncher and stopped most of his opponents. But that doesn't mean his power could KO Ali with a single shot. It's different every night with different fighters.
Well maybe. But in the Hatton-Kostya fight, it seemed like Kostya landed flush a few times and it didn't faze Ricky at all.
a fighter with knockout power can knock a fighter out at any moment with a flush shot, and at the very least totally wobble a fighter with a shot, consistently. when I think knockout power i think guys like tyson, liston, shavers, and julian jackson, guys that, regardless of the chin they're testing, is liable to crack it, if not completely shatter it during the course of a fight.
At the pro level, prob more than sheer power is the factor of throwing fast enough or awkward enough so that it is not seen. Those are the shots that KO the pros. And the factors involved in not being seen, or not being able to react, include: Quickness Awkwardness--including unexpected angles Combo punches Jab acting as a screen for the next one Counterpunch while or just after the opponent is throwing his
