    In the July 1997 edition of KO, the magazine (article by Tommy Deas Jr.) named the best of each division 10 and 5 years previous, the best at the time, and who would be the best 5 years on in 2002.

    So how did they do in their predictions for the future (2002)?

    Heavyweight: Chris Byrd
    Cruiserweight: Fabrice Tiozzo
    Light Heavyweight: William Guthrie
    Super Middleweight: David Reid
    Middleweight: Oscar De La Hoya
    Junior Middleweight: Felix Trinidad
    Welterweight: Kostya Tszyu

    Junior Lightweight: Naseem Hamed
    Featherweight: Erik Morales
    Junior Featherweight: Danny Romero
