He looked slow, but it's hard to say if it's age or down to the bulk he added to his upper body. Could be a combination of both. He trained that way to produce the knockout, so he might have expected that he'd lose some speed and was happy to rely on his timing. But then Pacquiao looked as quick as I've seen him in years, and very sharp. If the KO hadn't come, I think JMM might have been stopped late on, he was taking a lot of damage.

It would be interesting to see how JMM would perform against someone else now. I agree with the point about come forward fighters suiting him, but then, if he trained differently, i.e, lost some of the bulk and trained for speed, who's to say he couldn't still compete against other styles too.

HE missed more and got hit more, was he looking to exchange? Was Manny technically better? Or has he slowed? I think all 3

Pacquiao was overwhelming him, Pacquiao's movement was the best it's been against Marquez and it was working, Marquez could not keep up. Pacquiao thought Marquez couldn't hurt him and got very reckless and paid the price. That's basically it

    In a nutshell, yes.

Kinda why I'm not sure I'd want to see a 5th fight, as a JMM fan. No guarentee he'd land a punch like that again.

It's refreshing to see an honest Marquez fan say something like that. Marquez' punch was fantastically timed but that fight was Pacquiao's all the way.

In terms of mentality, Marquez has had the advantage the last 2 fights as he's been the most motivated. That would not be the case in the 5th fight...Pacquiao I feel would run away with it in a 5th fight because of this

I dont think Jmm looked slower it was Manny that looked faster. Both were taking alot more risks in this monster classic.

I'd have two big questions for the fifth fight. Would Marquez train like he did for the 3rd fight or the 4th fight. Would Pac be chinny and would he be as confident. I think it would also be a feather in Manny's hat if he actually got a definitive win over Marquez. Maybe they should retire before boxing retires them.

I thought he looked the same as the 3rd fight, he never really tries to win the first 2-3 rd's instead invests early with mostly body shots so he can use that fient he always catches Manny with(this time it kd's Pacquiao in the 3rd)

I think Pacquiao's strategy was just that good, Marquez in the third showed he was very open to Pacquiao's lead, pacquiao just became more active with it and all the movement pacquiao did which might not look like anything special, when you're in the ring it can mezmeris you and also it's like a thousand fients, it was a perfect strategy to mix that with pacquiao's leads, also him leaning his head foward kept marquez more straight up, then there was pacquiao throwing combinations at Marquez when he leaned foward in his usual low stance which was one of his main fients in earler fights

Marquez just happened to be the puncher in this fight, and running to the puncher usually doesn't equal good results, but pacquiao definitely showed he is a true ATG, with ATG skills as did Juan

yes his foot speed is a little slower, he does not get into position as fast as he use to. Which is why he takes as many shots as he does now.

What Marquez did was a calculated risk, After the knock down he knew Manny had to come to him and now he knew he could hurt him. He stopped stepping back and stood his ground. Yes he took some punishment but it paid off and he got the knock out. I have no doubt he could have fought the same fight as the previous fights but he came up short on the cards so why do that again?:huh

It's no surprise he's almost 40 Which makes his win even mor impressive. And that's the reason he should retire he is going to look older with each fight Pacquiao should fight someone else if he wants to keep on fighting JMM doesn't owe him ****
