What's the correct way to calculate KO%? Boxrec includes the losses, which is dumb. Example: Pacquiao's 38 of 50 wins were KOs/TKOs, so that's 76%. But on boxrec, it says 69% because they included his 3 losses and 2 draws.

How is that dumb? If you lose a fight, then you didn't score a KO in it.

If you get beat by a fighter, then you obviously haven't knocked them out (except maybe in Italy or Germany). I presume that's Boxrec's way of thinking.

Why would you not include losses?

Although you can draw a fight that you've scored a KO in, as Sergio Martinez will testify.

The correct way is their way. You include losses because there a percentage of his overall fights.

The amount of KO's you scored in relation to the total amount of fights you had is a more accurate depication of your career as a whole. If you win 50 fights, all by KO, but lose 50 on top of that, saying you have a 100% KO pecentage is technically correct, given that every win came by KO, but it's not strictly the truth taking into account the entire wins, losses, draws and NC's.

Amount of KO's in relation to your wins only is more of a reflection of the manner in which you win. and even then it lacks detail. Compare at what point Tyson tends to score his KO's, to about when Vitali K scores his, for example.
