Didn't Pele Reid stop Vitali with a kick in a kickboxing bout?

Supposedly steroids are a massive problem in kickboxing. Pele looked pharmaceutically enhanced himself, lol.

Didn't McDermott also knock Pele out quick? Going off memory and I'm getting old.

    your not getting old.

yeah. i came from a taekwondo/itf/kickboxing background (before watching and noticing that just using your hands creates much more suspense and a chessmatch). and the Pele Reid - Vitali bout was lore in the uk. any marital artist of the 90's and 00's was awash with mythos that Pele Rei....oh he's been knocked out again. even though we have it on youtube now. that is an absolute artifact. who ever shot that, probably never made a copy till somebody gave him a poke. but the stories were so baseless,so you heard talk of it being a huge right hook, even a jab, turning kick then a overhand left etc.
it was like a really domestic folkloric version of the Harry Greb Tapes.

also yeah the martial art scene in the uk was def on a juicing era but it wasnt seen really as a bad thing. look at Gladiators around the same time. gym buff hobbyist who just took on a job. same thing for Reid and the era he was in. he looked much slender when he turn pro-box. so it would be unfair to say he was absolutely positive on the stuff. different era. different reasons.

i would say a 5'9 orlin norris moving up 30 pounds is also a bit suspect by that rational.

Nelson would have been a favourite going in but nobody expected him to blast out Cowdell like that.

Light Heavyweight Anthony Hembrick vs Booker T. Word. Hembrick was a hot shot, can't miss prospect, with a big time amateur pedigree.

Cocky as hell. Word took him out in the first round.

Olajide was a contender ordained to be a future champion at superwelterweight. He lost his undefeated record after only 2 minutes 26 seconds against a late Colombian replacement.
