KO'd for the longest time

    From memory John Tate took a fair nap against Weaver, not sure of time vs Berbick.

    Agreed. This thread is really morbid.

    I often wonder, though, if deaths in the ring have more to do with bad luck, or with scary punching power. Baer and Fitzsimmons killed multiple men in the ring, but many punchers like Shavers and Louis thankfully never did. What is it that produces a ring death with some fighters and not with others?

    Dehydration,bad luck,undiagnosed injuries,genetics,bad beatings and having too many fights close together are some of the factors which can contribute to ring deaths...
