IMO: the Ugandan's defensive movement, right jab, left uppercut, and passing fair chin carry him for several rounds but the Ghanaian eventually catches him with the raw power carried in either hand, somewhere between the 8th and 11th. Ayub probably fails to get up from the first knockdown scored, and if he somehow does it's for naught unless the bell saves him.

Yes...just today, actually, and it helped inspire this idea. :yep

That one and Rubio are his most impressive wins, by virtue of their quality and of neither ever again being iced in quite the same manner.

Kalule boxes circles around him for another comfortable decision win. Jantuah has nothing outside of power.

You really think it's a given that he can avoid being cracked with a right hand over the long haul? Granted, it's an enormous understatement to say that Leonard's a far better technician than Jantuah, but Leonard did land the southpaw's bane at will.

Kofi's of not dissimilar proportions to Ray, a good deal longer and stronger than Kalule. While his only exceptional trait was his power, Jantuah was also not a wild slugger. He's the type to willingly get outworked so he can size up an opening for a big right hand (or, barring that, a left hook if the opportunity presents itself).

Kalule's defense was sound, but not brilliant. His chin was fair, but not puncher-proof. That he could outbox Jantuah for several rounds is certain, but he's no Willie Pep and will certainly not avoid being hit all night.

I certainly wouldn't rule out Kalule earning a decision on the scorecards if it made it that far - but my leaning is that he gets stopped in the late rounds before it does. It's about 60-40 to me.

I just think Kalule is a totally different class of fighter. Sure, you could use that analysis in pretty much any puncher vs pure boxer matchup. He could get cracked down the stretch, but I don't favor random chance over proven skill superiority.

You hardly need to be of a Pep calibre to outbox Jantuah over 12.

Kalule would counterpunch the hell out of Jantuah, even if he does he get rocked at some point.Jantuah doesn't have the fluidity to really follow up, so he would need to win by sudden KO imo.

I agree with this. Kofi has the power to be able to one-shot Kalule, but I favour Kalule to do the job and out-box him comfortably over 12 and avoid that big right hand.
