Koki Kameda vs. Daniel Diaz & Masao Nakamura vs. Ronald Pontillas RBR

Round 8

Time out. Kameda lost his mouthpiece before anyone threw a punch. Time in. Diaz actually comes forward, cautiously, arms up but loose and held out several inches from his body. Diaz lands some jabs. Kameda fires his right jab up and gets picked off. Diaz doubles his jab and shrinks away from Kameda's left hand leads, letting them bounce harmlessly off his shoulder. Diaz is having a good round. Diaz lands a jab and throws a low slicing right to the body. Kameda keeps his hands up, but isn't ducking down to get inside as in previous rounds. As a result he isn't getting off much to the body and is just lunging from outside. As I say that he floors Diaz in a round he'd been losing. Kameda then jumps on him and slams home a few more lefts to the body until the bell.

Round 9

Kameda circles right, then left. Kameda stays out at long range, not pressing for a KO. Diaz seems tentative, and comes forward reluctantly behind his jab. Kameda lands a hard left to the body that doubles Diaz over and gets him backing up. Right hook upstairs by Kameda. Big left to the body again, and Diaz backs up to the ropes. Diaz grabs and holds. Kameda keeps his gloves up on the way in and keeps them pounding away on Diaz's frame when he can reach it. Diaz doesn't have an answer, just backing up and bending over to try and pull the target away. Huge left hand body shot by Kameda on the inside. Diaz is in trouble, and loses his mouthpiece while getting pounded in the corner. Kameda lands a hard combo downstairs.

Round 10

Kameda jabs to the body and throws a hard left to the face. Diaz backs up and sticks his arms out, gloves pointed down as he tries to grab and neutralize Kameda with a bony web. Diaz snaps out a low jab while backing up. Kameda is still folding him in half with long left hand leads to the body. Diaz tries to hold his ground by hooking over the top at Kameda with both hands coming forward. Kameda just takes it on the gloves and advances, shoveling away with the left to the body. Diaz throws a right uppercut into Kameda's guard. Kameda lands another left to the body up close. Diaz hurt again. Kameda follows him with his high guard and can't finish.

Kameda keeps waiting until too late in the round to hurt this guy

 

Round 11

Kameda follows, shoulders pinched together tightly. Kameda not throwing much. Diaz jabs and Kameda slips a left hand under his jab and detonates his ribs!!! Diaz slides back quickly to the ropes and clinches when Kameda catches up. Again Diaz moves and clinches. Kameda is grinning, flexing his fists into wrecking balls and smashing Diaz's facade with them. Diaz is walked into a corner and hit numerous times with rights and lefts above the belt. Diaz keeps folding himself up and trying to lean on Kameda as his feet aren't carrying him to sanctuary. He's getting bombed to the face as a result, as he brings both it and his hands down. Kameda keeps throwing, but slows his output.

KAMEDA WINS!!!! CORNER RETIREMENT!!

 

Kameda gives a lengthy interview. He barely has a mark on his face, whereas the Nicaraguan looks like he ran afoul of the Yakuza.

They are showing a replay of the 11th round. It's unclear whether they will indeed show Nakamura...

 

It really was an impressive late round offensive from Kameda, and had Diaz come out for the 12th he'd have likely been KTFO.

Diaz got hit just about everywhere you a legal blow can score, and it wasn't like he was just sitting still.
