    Round 11

De la Mora jabs at the face and hooks at the body. Kameda darts in and out on quick feet that barely touch the mat. Kameda backs all the way up and drops his arms to his sides, resting as he waits for DLM. Kameda is shelling up and DLM is happily smashing at his arms and wrists. De La Mora AGAIN stumbles forward to his hands and knees while throwing a hard-charging attack at a fleeing Kameda. Big hook to the body by DLM. Big combo upstairs as well. Right hand. Kameda blocking what he can.

    10-9 DLM

    106-104 De la Mora

Yes, it was that close but my math sucks.

There were two rounds separating them but it was 86-84, not 88-86.

Addition, subtraction - what's the difference? :yep

    Round 12

De La Mora is whipping up right hands. Kameda is scurrying away, blocking and holding his arms spread out wide to play up to the crowd. De La Mora isn't impressed. He pecks away with hooks and rights as he passes in close with fly-by attacks. Kameda now starts to trade with him! A cut on DLM is checked quickly by the ref. Kameda comes crouching in behind a high guard and DLM smacks him back. Some sloppy brawling on the inside. Both are getting licks in. Nice left by Kameda

    Nice ending.

115-114 De la Mora, but there is no way he's getting it in Tokyo.

Without the KD, Kameda would have been screwed it seems.

I thought the knockdown would be a real factor, but it only mattered on one judges' card. :think

Without the KD, it merely becomes a split decision but still a win for Kameda.

  11. Would you call it a robbery? Or a close fight which could have gone either way?

    :think

Didnt you say the round would have belonged to DLM had the KD not occurred? Wouldn't that be a 3 point shift?

?? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you said Mora was clearly winning the round that means:

    Mora 113-114 Kameda
    Mora 113-115 Kameda
    Mora 112-115 Kameda

    Would have been

    Mora 115-113 Kameda
    Mora 115-114 Kameda
    Mora 114-114 Kameda

    Mora by Majority decision

Most judges just give it 10-8 to the person who scored the knockdown unless it's a truly dominant round for the guy on the receiving end.

I don't know if De la Mora had been that dominant to keep it from being 10-8...it's pretty subjective.
