IB, thank you very much for posting the full fight video. I have just now finished watching the video, and I scored the fight for Koki Kameda, 8-4 rounds, 115-112 points, giving Jung-Oh Sun rounds 4, 5, 9, and 10, with Round 10 being a 10-8 round for the flash knockdown. This was a very entertaining fight, fought at a high pace, and most of the rounds were very close.

I was interested that even though Sun had the obvious height and reach advantage, he never really used his jab, instead it was Kameda who used his own jab effectively to quickly move inside to set up his straight lefts and combinations. But Kameda fought too much on the outside, in range of Sun's looping punches, and he showed neither the lateral movement to escape Sun's punches, nor the ability to bully inside to clinch Sun. So while I definitely think Kameda deserved the close decision, he had WAY too much trouble against BoxRec's #145 bantamweight in the world.

    :nod

He is probably extraordinarily lucky it was a Kameda Promotions event, with the underdog proving the aggressor on home soil and making it very close throughout. (it would've almost been poetic justice were he robbed in his first defense outside Japan)

Say what you will about him and his family's past exploits, at least he is sporting enough to act humbly in the aftermath of this latest close shave and not boastful:

I've yet to encounter anyone scoring it by more than a two-point margin for him. If he were happy with this performance, over a challenger universally slated in the build-up, it would be either scummy or frighteningly delusional.
