Kameda-Landaeta I WAS a clear robbery, but he pretty much whooped on Landaeta in the rematch, and he's improved a lot defensively since then. He was a 19 year old prospect with, what, 11 pro fights and no international amateur experience at the time? He's been fighting a lot of gatekeepers since then, but it's part of his learning curve, plus they've been trying to turn him into a draw in Mexico. He'll be fighting top guys again soon enough.
The 1st fight was not a robbery. It was extremely close, the home fighter won, but had the better workrate. What is all the fuss about? They had a rematch, Landaeta got another payday, got dominated. So why linger over things like this??
Hasegawa is a top notch fighter!:good Hopefully he'll get some international exposure like that guy who beat Gonzalez (Nishioka?)
Almost nobody had that fight close. Landaeta was literally toying with Kameda for half the fight, and then knocked him down. After the decision, the TV station that aired the fight got 50,000 phone calls complaining about the decision, and every Japanese newspaper called it a robbery. At most, Kameda won 4 rounds.
Totally disagree. Koki won some rounds but not enough and was overall dealt with all night...Quite an impressive turnaround in the rematch but no way was that first one extremely close, I had Landaeta up by 5 points.
We need to petition to get that guy calling the big fights on HBO, Showtime, and PPV- I don't care that he doesn't speak English, at least you know you're watching a fight.
These japanese guys need to commentate the HBO fights. Imagine one of them watching the punch Pac landed on hatton? "AY NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA orugato yamaha kawasaki morimoto "KO PUNCH"!!!!!
