Prior to his fght with Alexander Munoz, I really did not believe Koki Kameda had much of a chance in succeeding in an already talent rammed Bantamweight division.

I've always known Koki Kameda to be a skilled, disciplined and somewhat shrewd technician. However, what i did not realise was how intelligent, calculated, and natural, or maybe nurtured ability the man possesses. What really impressed me was Kameda's defense and timing. In terms of basic fundamentals, capitalising on an opponents mistakes, he really has to rank up there in the higher echelons of boxing. As a fighter in the lighter weight class, Kameda's style is very unique. Seldom do you see a flyweight/Bantamweight pick his shots as wisely as Kameda does.

Personally, i feel Koki Kameda is vastly underated. Today, he dealt with a fighter who has power in both hands, throws punches in bunches and one who is known for his tried and tested chin. In addition, one who also has a decent work rate. The combination of these attributes would give any fighter moving up two weight divisions plenty to think about. Not too many 112 lbs fighters would take on Alexander Munoz on there 118LBS debut. A man who started his career at 126lbs.

I now honestly believe Kameda can go back down a division to 115lbs, take on a fighter in Hugo Cazares (WBA Super flyweight champion), who, in my humble opinion is tailor made for Kameda. This would potentiallly make Kameda a four weight champion, buy him precious time to attack the Bantamweight division, when the likes of Donaire, Montiel and Mares have moved up weight class.

As much as the Japanese media try to demonise Koki Kameda, Kameda was very gracious in defeat (his father was not), and came back stronger. Kameda's loss to Pongsaklek Wonjongkam was a loss, which, has quite obviously revitalised Koki. If any fighter can bring much needed attention to the lighter weight divisions, its Koki Kameda.

Thank you for reading, i now readily await a thread full of 'Koki Kameda' replies!!!
