Wednesday in Lamphoon, scheduled for 12 rounds @ flyweight in an IBF world title eliminator.

Nantapech, aka "Eaktwan BTU Ruaviking", is looking to maneuver towards a second world title challenge opportunity - and in the bargain stands to bag the biggest scalp of his career. Thus far his mettle has been proven against some capable & well-known journeymen of the southeast Asian scene, but all five of his greatest steps up in class have seen him soundly defeated, with almost no middle ground. So far in his 2018 campaign he is on a streak of two victories since consecutive losses to Donnie Nietes (for the IBF championship) and Juan Carlos Reveco (in a prior eliminator, a failed bid at instant redemption) in 2017.

Kuroda, aka "Furonta (the Blue Dolphin...which is also the mascot of the local soccer team he supports in his native Kawasaki)", is on a 6-0 run since his most recent professional defeat by Takuya Kogawa twenty months ago - which he avenged during that run. Kuroda, though unsuccessful in his own singular world title challenge to date (also losing by UD to Juan Carlos Reveco, incidentally), has generally beaten a higher class opponent than has Nantapech and is a former Japanese national light flyweight champion.

Holy crap, that's nearly a month ago. BoxRec slacking off updating the schedule... :shakehead:

...but thanks, I would have been furious to have discovered this after waking up at the crack of dawn to hunt down a live stream in vain.

Imagine my shock, I found that article last night and posted it on Kirk's. They missed an entire Polish card that was scheduled for this past Saturday the other day as well, only fixing it after the match results never showed up. Evidently it was moved to Dec. 22, and no one noticed that either. Slacking indeed.

Anybody know if this is going to be rescheduled for 2019?

Would be a good fight. I like the Dolphin in a mild upset.

Last I heard Nitta gym were pushing for him to get a mandatory with Mthalane
Nitta Gym and the Kawasaki football team you alluded to have quite a bit of cross over, with the mascot having been in some exhibition fights.

Interesting Naoya Inoue had his test bout against Kuroda
