Koncz: "I told Manny to dump Freddie, I really did,"

    Michael Koncz, the Canadian adviser of Manny Pacquiao, openly admits to advising Pac to fire his trainer Freddie Roach. In a recent article Koncz had the following to say:


    "Roach is not getting the 10 percent on this one," Koncz said. "Manny cut Freddie down by $200,000 so he will get $1 million. They agreed to that."

    "It's an unnecessary expense at this juncture of Manny's career. He doesn't need Freddie. Freddie needs Manny."

    "I told Manny that he trains himself anyway so why pay Freddie so much money. I am always looking for ways to save Manny money and that expense is unjustified."

    Tut, tut. Cutting corners that you really don't want to be. Clueless really, these 'advisors' should stick to their own domain and not boxing issues.

    Koncz shouldn't have a say in these matters. Pac wouldn't be where he is w/o Freddie.

    Fail. But maybe Manny does need someone for the pad work, etc? Without dumping Roach of course, that's terrible advice. I can't really calculate how much Roach deserves for this fight. Roach has got to be doing less and less due to his Parkinson. $1 million is good no?

    Precisely, they should have no jurisdiction when it comes to boxing decisions.

    This SOB is going to stir the pot up right fing now in the middle of an already disorganized camp which he is partially responsible for? These assholes need to go. Roach deserves every penny he earned training Pac into the star he is today. The fight plans designed by Roach were / are an important element to Manny's success not to mention the training. Manny and Roach are the perfect combination for each other. It is truly insane that this ******* would try to split them up, but then again, its in his best interests since Roach obviously understands what leeches these jerks are.
