It doesn't make sense that if you want an even playing field that you only charge $5mil of say $100 purse on either side. It really isn't enough of a deterrent to cheat. If I was either May or Pac it would be way to easy to blow the tests, get a nice payday, and still win the fight because either one cheated.

Both lawyers have decided that if either cheats that they are going to sue for a lot more than $5 mil. Which I would guess means cancelling the fight and trying to get something close to the purse amount, claiming lost wages or something. Much more of a deterrent.

If somebody pops dirty, the fight would be cancelled and the opposite party would be able to get WAY MORE than 5 million in a civil law suit for training expenses, etc.

So if either Pac fans or May fans are convinced the other one is cheating, then they should be happy about there being no set financial penalty as if it really does happen that one tests positive, they will be coughing up way more than 5 million dollars.
