Yep I would put my hands up and say I didn't do much research on Ruiz. Didnt expect it to be anything other than a routine defence for AJ. For a guy who was not only shorter in height but also shorter in reach to be able to hit AJ just as easy as he did was frightening. His hands looked quick. AJ looked cumbersome throughout.
What did he ever do to make people think he could stop Joshua? And his knockout percentage. Didn't he have 31 wins with 21 knockouts. I could be wrong, this is just from memory.
Ruiz and AJ actually have 3 common opponents Parker who AJ UD'd and Ruiz had lost a MD to 2 years earlier Zumbano Love who AJ flattened in 2 rounds and Ruiz UD'd 5 months later And Keven Johnson who AJ blew out in 2 and Ruiz UD'd 3 years later
It wasn’t just that, but Ruiz has developed a reputation for lukewarm performances. Joshua knocking him down lit a fire under him and forced Ruiz to fight back instead of just coast through the fight.
The fact he'd never beaten anyone elite, the fact Parker was a little exposed after that title fight, the fact he gave up every single advantage except possibly chin, and the fact he wasn't just Fury tune-up fight fat levels, or Chisora/Povetkin tub, or even Fat Pole level obese, but HORRIFICALLY FEEDER FETISH LEVEL OBESE. That's why!
The simple truth is, as I've been correctly telling you all for ages, AJ and Donkey just aren't very good at all. If it wasn't for sheer corruption and Fury getting robbed over in the US like they do to foreigners over there religiously all 4 HW world titles would be held by a 260lb + Oliver Hardy lookalike walking blob And a 260lb + sack of blubber who literally hadn't fought anyone with a pulse in 3 years, spent 2.5 years totally inactive abusing the living hell out of their body with industrial amounts of alcohol, cocaine, and junk food, and on top of all of that (as if it wasn't enough), had to shed 140lbs after ballooning up to over 400lbs, suffered a nervous breakdown and had been battling chronic depression and suicidal thoughts, and only had 2 exhibition fights against zero threat bums in 3 years, and neither of those exhibition fights were remotely competitive sparring.
