Crazy talk G. Any obesely overweight fighter who takes train seriously and does proper 8 weeks training incl. road work will drop weight like crazy, Canelo dropped far more than that in camp for 154 fights. Ruiz is not planning to lose weight like crazy, he's losing weight cause he's training like crazy. 268lbs is ridiculous for his size, and sure some of it helps taking a big punch, but how about getting lighter, moving faster and longer and not getting hit by one? You don't need weight for KO power either, look at CW Wilder, your sharpness and accuracy benefits from fighting at a natural weight too.

But all this talk sounds like pre-built excuse making. Joshua hurt Ruiz, smelled blood, got overexcited, got clipped by an awkward shot and never recovered. He'll be plenty sharp and alert in the rematch to methodically break Ruiz down, which is exactly what everybody was saying he'd do, which he did until he got hurt. The best thing Ruiz can do to avoid it is train his a$$ off, and by doing so, he'll literally, naturally going to do that: train a large portion of his fat a$$ off.

If you're physically qualified to do a specific job (knock out Joshua) and change yourself a great deal before you undertake the exact same job, an inherent risk exists. Inarguable.

That said, losing weight could make him way, way better. But we don't know.

I personally would hate to see him in the ring in a totally unfamiliar state. If he weights 225, for example, I will start looking for odds because I expect him to lose badly.

If I was advising him it would be to box in sight of 250lbs - you know, the weight he gathered every drop of experience he has in the ring at.

Don't think he'll be any less than 250, or even that low IMO. However our fan base is just too damn funny.

Before Joshua-Ruiz I: Ruiz' gonna get KO'd cause he's an obese, overweight, out-of shape fatso
Post Joshua-Ruiz II: Ruiz got KO'd cause he wasn't obese anymore, lost too much weight and was too much in shape

You can't make our fans up.

Most of the people I was reading before the fight just didn't know anything about him and thought he would be **** because they didn't know anything about him.

It was astonishing how few people had seen the Parker fight.
