I did a Zewski thread a few months before I did this one, I've been pretty high on him for a while as well, it irritates me that Zewski hasn't gotten more attention than he has so far, he's been a pro for 5 years I wish someone would run the Top Rank undercards on TV, HBO should on one of their lesser channels like Showtime does, these guys need more exposure.

Definitely man, he's been moved quite slowly as well, I haven't seen his recent fights so perhaps it's to do with his performances but I've been waiting for him to step up and he's finally getting his chance, a win here should really give him some good momentum onward.

he's a good talent but nothing special, though he's young so may become special with time.

I think fighting Zewski this early is a bad move...

Ponomarev has a big ask in front of him aganst the undefated Mikael Zewski, I think its far too soon for such a challenge to this 22 year old.

Ponomarev just beat Zewski by a wide margin. I think Sanchez is a good match up as a trainer for the kid!

Yeah he was vastly better tonight than he was against Claggett. Or was it that Zewski just had an awful night? Regardless Ponomarev fought intelligently far more than he has before.

Its looking like Ponomarev is going to get a crack at a title it looks as if his opponent will be Rico Mueller on the Bradley-Rios undercard.

That's a hell of a fight, Solomon is one of the most avoided fighters in boxing; a mini-Andre Ward.

BTW; I ususally slag off on Arum, but this is a good card. The four undercard bouts are all better than the headliner (which shouldn't be happening.)

Solomon is like Ottke mixed with Miguel Vasquez. His fight with Kenny Galarza a few years back was a terrible display of running. Ponomarev will have no problems with this guy.

He looks like a middleweight boiling down to welterweight. He can't punch, and he's slow. If he ever steps up to the world class level he's going to sleep.
