That's pathetic, Fat Pole. We may hate Hearn-J, but Hearn was absolutely correct when he said yesterday that any fighter who claims 7 weeks is not enough time to prepare for such an opportunity when nobody needs to make weight ... is simply making excuses. He's right. It's not perfect, but it's not like this pull out is 2 weeks out, and even then, Bisping did this in the UFC, got the call on a movie set, and won the title.

Any HW who turns this down is a straight up ***** in my eyes

You have 6 weeks to prepare for this fight, which is only 2 weeks off being a standard camp in any case

Stop being pussies and step up. AJ is a top HW but he isnt a destroyer, so man up

ESPN has even said so that Ortiz's team says 7 weeks is not enough .

A fighter that doesn't care if he loses. Hes right turning down the offer if he wants the best chance of winning, come 100% prepared with a good camp behind you. People on here moaning about him turning his nose up at 6 mil is laughable, I think it shows he's being professional about his career

How is he in line for Wilder ......????????

Wilder mat not even be champion much longer , you don't decline huge pay days anyway with titles on the line.

Joshua once again showing he's one of the most avoided fighters in history so much not even guys getting 5 / 10x what they were making are taking the fight . :risas3:

Wilder-Kownacki is planned for later this year assuming they both keep winning.

The purse is not going to be great, but if Adam wins he'd be in line for a massive payday vs Joshua.

Whether or not it is the correct decision, it is still an understandable decision not to go for the short notice fight vs Joshua.

I’m sorry but if your offered this fight you take it. A chance to fight for the unified heavyweight championship of the world in New York for a boat load of money? He might never get a shot like this again.

Does Konwacki think he’s some sort of in demand global superstar to be turning down opportunities like this? The only question I’d be asking is where do I ****ing sign? Pathetic.

And that goes for Ortiz as well if he’s turned it down. He’s been moaning for ages about getting a shot at Joshua. Even claimed Joshua is ducking him.

Lets be real... even if Ortiz had a full camp it would be the same result.

Now he is bitching about six weeks, he will become irrelevant if he passes this opportunity up and is highly unlikely to receive another chance.

Ortiz fans can now STFU and stop mentioning that pussies name.

He got a VERY reasonable offer/oppurtunity and chickened out at HIS age!!!!!

Why the **** are you sill in the god damm sport? I am perplexed as **** right now. Go ****ing retire then you weak ass man.

Looks like the only fighter than wants it is Hunter and Charr. Obviously neither are the greatest option for Joshua's debut in the US, this big debut is going to end up being very underwhelming.

Kownacki refused and I get why he did, he's young, he has time and he is being lined up for a shot at Wilder. He probably thinks he can beat Wilder and then unify with Joshua and be the one to get the huge DAZN money. But then again, no guarantee he beats Wilder, it's a risk and a risk that won't be half as lucrative as facing Joshua now. But I get it, he has time and he hasn't a history of ducking difficult fights, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he's thinking about the long game.

Ortiz unlike Kownacki isn't young and doesn't have time to waste. He isn't being groomed for a shot at Wilder and getting decent fights against the other PBC heavies like Kownacki, he's being matched against stiffs and making poor money and isn't likely to get a shot at Wilder any time soon. So his options are very limited.

I've always suspected he ducked Joshua not the other way round like some have suggested. All he had to do was sit on his mandatory and wait for his shot and he would of got it. But he didn't want it and wanted an easier path to a title vs Wilder who at the time was seen as a protected champion, he likely thought he could KO Wilder easily and milk the title. Remember he ducked Ustinov too, twice and wasted his prime too, doing what he is doing now, fighting meaningless fights for small paydays. He's in his comfort zone right now and is happy to keep making easy paydays. He clearly wants no part of Joshua, he's had 2 chances now to face him and both times choose not to go for it.
