Hell yeah, I'm all in favor of that. I'd rather see him fight Volkanovski than a Max vs. Alex rematch. I'm pretty much always opposed to immediate rematches in the UFC, especially if there is a highly qualified contender, like KZ. It will be a travesty if the Zombie doesn't get another crack at the belt. Consider what a crazy career the guy has had: * Fight of the Year 2012 vs. Dustin Poirier * Runner up for FOTY 2010 vs. Leonard Garcia * Submission of the year 2011 vs. Leonard Garcia * Quickest kayo ever (at that point) vs. Mark Hominick * Crazy fight and ko loss at the last second vs. Yair
Agree with you. Much rather see fresh matchups so Volkanovski v Zombie would be fine by me. I also would rather Holloway go win a fight against a top 5 guy before a rematch as imo Volk won every rd. The fight wasn't really that competitive. I don't like the idea of immediate rematches after title fights when the fights are not close/there is a definitive result. Basically they are saying a challenger has to defeat the champion twice before he is the recognized king. I'm not ok with that and it holds up the divisions top contenders.
