I had Jermell's fight even after 10 rounds and gave the last two rounds to him, to edge out Harrison. However, I thought Korobov clearly outpointed Jermall. The judges got it exactly wrong tonight.
Korobov clear win. Harrison very close either way but not a robbery, commentators were all over Charlos nuts.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing half the time during the Korobov fight. Take round 11, for example. Korobov had a strong round, landing hard, clean shots on Charlo several times but Goosen, after the round, said Charlo had a very strong round 11. What the hell was he watching? Not what I was watching.
no American sport has had unbiased announcers since the eighties. MTV ruined music, ESPN has ruined sports.
Korobov got robbed, and Harrison winning was perfectly fine. In no way did Jermell win that, at best it was a draw.
Korobov was hitting Jermall with that left all night long and Joe Goosen was saying its not a clean punch.
As I said, I had it even after 10 in Jermell's fight but I thought he clearly won the championship rounds. I don't think Harrison did enough to win it. Harrison landed the cleaner punches through most of the fight but Jermell was using effective aggression and landing his share as well. Jermall, however, was not doing that against Korobov.
Korobov clearly won the fight. The commentators tonight were terrible absolutely terrible and the fox scorer was pure ****
Korobov should have won, & Harrison I only saw the second half of the fight, but in the second half I had Jermell winning.
I wish announcers would stick to a play by play mode, as opposed to an op-ed mode, which is about the only thing they do these days. Something like "Charlo lands a hard right hand, Korobov counters with a left hook, etc." Instead we get "Charlo really hurt Korobov there and Korobov didn't do anything to counter." Keep the opinions out of it, just call the fight. It can be done.
Wow it’s interesting how different people can view a fight. I thought Matt fought well but Charlo adjusted better and the result of his improvement lead to his big success in the 12th. It’s almost like all our complaining about bad judging is a pure exaggeration on our part since it’s completely plausible that these judges, (3) of them, could have such different views.
I honestly couldn’t give Matt more that 4/5 rounds at the very best. Even the effects of the clean punches were telling (Charlo has a good beard)
