Well, WBO has order a fight between Korobov n Andrade. Both had very good amateur school. Both were World champions in amateurs. Both had not faced much of a competition as a pro. Korobov looks larger and stiffer. But, Andrade is faster and slicker. I have either Andrade on points or Korobov by KO. I would say Andrade by UD.
Great fight for Andrade and his win by TKO will set the stage for future great matchups. Even in losing this one against Andrade it will put Korobov's level of competition faced above Golovkin.
Why is everyone underrating Andrade.... He's a big LMW. And next to Korobov, he'll be on even ground sizewise, while carrying a massive speed advantage, a moderate power advantage, and let's not forget that Korobov doesnt exactly have a Champions mentality. The guy cruises too much, and refuses to push the pace, even when he's notably hurt his guy. Im putting my $$$$ on Andrade.....and props to a fellow American for stepping UP into the MW division. While I'd favor GGG to get to him.......I would still rank Andrade a CLEAR #2 if he dismantles Korobov, which I believe he will. And his first defense should be Martinez, so he TOO can KO the shell of Sergio, and show the world Cotto never WAS #2.:deal
The judges will no doubt give Andrade the benefit of doubt in all the close rounds. Coupled with Korobov's measured pace and propensity to take rounds off. I see Korobov needing a KO to win. Anyone know how Andrade did in the amateurs against Russian and earstwhile Soviet boxers? I know he lost to a marginal Russian fighter on the same card Wilder got starched.
