Cannot stay, I am tuning into the fights as we speak. Well done Korobov who just knocked out his opponent with less than 10 seconds on the clock. He looks good, and has very good power in his right hand. One for the future. Steve Bunce thought it was necessary to bring up James DeGale on how he defeated a fighter in the amateurs that had defeated Korobov. He is constantly up the ass of British fighters, and I know that is his home land, but what did DeGale have anything to do with his initial arguement with the commentators? Anybody who tuned in will no what I'm talking about. It annoys me. It's almost as bad when he said James DeGale and the crop of Olympians have the potential to be better than Watson, Benn, Eubank, and Collins. Yeah...right.
Thats not exactly what bunce said, he was saying at this point in the careers of the olympians they have a much better public profile than the older generation. He also said at this point in their carrers like for like the current olypmpians are ahead of the older generation at a like for like time which is also true.
Bunce is the man. I love him. I think he knows fighting. And if he sometimes goes over the boil on fighter's we know aren't that good yet, well that's what's got him on the television. Long live Bunce. And long live these ****ing card girls.
I am tempted to rewind on my sky+ to take another look at that ring card girl :yep. Maybe after this round :think.
Who are these women? Normally American card girls look like they been scraped off the floor of a brothel.
Korobov definitaly has loads of talent. He's been one of my favorite prospects since he went pro . As far as British commentators hyping up fighters from their country,I think they do go a little overboard a little but I thats what they get paid for I guess. They do take it to another level .
:bart Nope. There was a point on Setanta Sports awhile back when he was actually quoted as saying potentially they can all be better professionals. I know he said it because I was watching it as he said it. I'm sure I'll be able to find some confirmation. I am not kicking up a stink about that - I disagree with him, but he brought DeGale into an issue that he had no business being in. Too boot, his fantasy match-up choices sucked and were pretty much all involving British fighters. Nothing wrong with pride, but I would like a little more emphasis on World Boxing...because that is the epitomy of our sport. Britian hasn't produced anyone great in a while. Like now. "Let's hope that Cotto is completely ****ed so our boy can win..even if it is under false pretenses".
I was watching the same thing but you are taking it out of context, he is quite right in saying like for like the new guys are ahead of the old guys at this point. He then went onto say they have a chance of being better pro's as they were ahead at this point so why could they not be ?
Let's have it right. I was absolutely right when I said he thought those fighters could potentially be better professionals than Benn, Eubank, etc. So..I was right. :good In reference to your question, refer to my last post.
Erm the rules contained the fact that one of the fighters had to be British. You also appear to know **** all about boxing if you think there havent been any great British fighters recently.
I'll ignore the last remark. You're probably wearing a union jack as we speak. Just kidding brother. No need to get offensive like that over a stupid little thread about Buncey being over-patriotic.
I agree that he is definitely a bit over the top with some of the British guys, but the guy is doing a lot for boxing at the minute by bringing it to the fore. More people interested in the sport can only mean good things for the long term.
