They all have their own styles. Sergei Vodopyanov is one who would get a lot of attention as a pro; he's extremely exciting and flashy. But German promoters have easier access to them and they get better contracts in Germany; and boxing is bigger over there than it is in the US now.
Compare how Danny looked against Korobov to how he looked here at the US Olympic Trials against Shawn Porter, another stocky, strong, aggressive boxer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhUrzFOO4tQ&feature=channel_page
Korobov is awesome. My favourite prospect right now. I like the fact that you like Vodopyanov Kolya. I watched him triumph in the 2007 nationals, and have been a huge fan ever since. And I think he is only around 20-21 right now so is a very exciting prospect.
Yeah, Shawn is much more of a come at you boxer, not an in and out, balls of your feet boxer like Korobov. Damn, I love this sport.
Another good fight of Korobov, this time against Emilio Correa of Cuba. Much more tactical here. Damn, I still can't believe he didn't win Gold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjHUgzz7_5U
u know what it is.. the Russians teach more fundamental boxing .. here we try to be more flashy.. Russians got the basics mastered and findamentally more sound
Yeah Korobov was a brilliant amateur.Korobov stopped another middleweight prospect Darren Sutherland 3 or 4 times.Class
Korobov is a great amatuer as are most of the Russian Fighters but there is no doubt in my mind that by the time they both peak as professionals that Danny Jacobs will **** all over him in a 12 rounder. Just my opinion
I dunno about that. Danny had a tough last fight, but he has a LOT of things he needs to improve on as a pro.
Kolya you're up on this amatuers like no other. I've seen Danny improve over the last two years since he was training here. I didn't get to see him this time, but I saw the fight and he does have things to work on but who dosen't?
