Not a bad list at all. The top 5 names pick themselves for me and i'd only swap Hearns and Holmes. The bottom half is more difficult.

    1. Sugar Ray Leonard
    2. Marvin Hagler
    3. Michael Spinks
    4. Larry Holmes
    5. Thomas Hearns
    6. Mike Tyson
    7. Julio Cesar Chavez
    8. Roberto Duran
    9. Alexis Arguello
    10. Jeff Chandler
    11. Eusebio Pedroza
    12. Wilfredo Gomez

    Rip Pryor

Duran and Hearns are a bit low for my liking. Really speaks to the strength of the era when Tyson doesn't break top 5

Sanchez belongs on there over Gomez, and, possibly, Pedroza.

    He definitely belongs above Gomez.

Pedroza is arguable because he ended up defending his 126 lb. title for 3 more years after Sanchez died.

Gomez beat a bunch of semi stiffs at 122 lbs, except for Pintor. But, of course, Pintor was moving up. True, Gomez was moving up as well, when Sanchez kod him.

A good case for Pryor belonging on the list, could be made as well.

Chandler was very good, but never had a super fight.

    I'd insert Pryor over him.

This. Jeff Chandler belongs nowhere near a top 10 of the 80s list.

My biggest question is why no Jung Koo Chang on the list? The Korean Hawk would rate above The Hawk and Tyson for my money.

Edit: I would likely place Azumah on this list somewhere. And even though Sanchez beat him he only had 3 years and 11 fights in the decade...good stuff but hard to rate him highly unless we add the 70’s body of work imo

    Philly bias.

He was a very solid champion bit lacks a signature win.

Lol, I clearly have an admitted bias for Chandler. I guess it depends on how highly you rate Gaby Canizales (who I like more than Orlando), but I would agree with the missing signature win. A Pintor fight was sorely needed by both men. A shame that King wanted control of Chandler if he would win, and Chandler was not willing to join the king team. Another missed fight for politics

Damn! I forgot about Chang. Yeah, he deserves to make the list.

I don't think Nelson belongs. Nelson would make a top 15-20 list, but he doesn't really deserve a top 10 spot.
