    Possibly part of the reason Weaver held his title for 2.5 years was that he was a very inactive champion.

    Seeing Witherspoon relativley trim was unusual. I have the 2nd half of his career burned into my memory. He had that extra padding. LOL
    Pinklon Thomas was just strong. Not power but physical strength. He was like a Oak Tree.
    I consider Witherspoon to be a good puncher. He couldn't move Thomas. That was unusual.

    For some reason, I always regard Holmes as an 80s heavyweight rather than a 70s heavyweight.

    Strong and oak tree are actually very good descriptions of Thomas and i totally agree with your post. Thomas took some top notch punches from Tim, Weaver and Coetzee without being bothered too much. In his short prime he was close to the most durable guy in there. Great chin.

    No mentions of Bruno. He has 3 defeats to Smith Spoon and Tyson. No disgrace.
