Does this increasing rivalry between American fighters and Easter European fighters have anything to do with the tensions between Putin and Obama? This seems like the dumbest rivalry...

When someone from the big countries is piling up KO victims, those guys get hyped up like mad by the same guys that dismiss European, Asian and South American fighters that do exactly the same.
Even when there's a clear distinction in the level of dominace they beat the same fighters or the same level fighters with they still favor their man to 'expose' the other fighter that's clearly doing a better job.

Of course the rock, paper, scissors thing is always in effect. Look at Bute who beat every common Super 6 contenders opponents easier and clearer as the contestants until he finally faced Froch.
But the main topic remains.

We now get the "but they haven't faced any big names yet" call, because there's a clear trend going between those big names to avoid fighting those guys at all cost. Huge risk, mediocre reward is the main reason here.
So they can never really 'prove' themselves, because they can't get the fights with the big names who are hiding under their network's and alphabet orgs skirts.

Why was it allright that guys like Broner got hyped while he needed a couple of gifts already before he got beat up so clearly that not even the judges could save him? And why was it bad that a guy from Argentina got the same kinda hype being on the opposite side of some crooked judges scorecards?
Why is it a problem that Kovalev and Golovkin get hype when they completely dominate their opposition before the KO, and why is it ok for Fury to get hype while he struggled with multiple relatively light hitters and got knocked down heavily by a couple of them?

The only thing boxfans should look at is how they actually perform inside the ring. Not where they come from, what their eating habits are, what their skincolor is or whatever made up deity they do or don't believe in.
Then if they're not too obnoxious outside the ring too there's no reason not to like the boxer. For a nomal person that is.

You make too much sense for this forum . There are so many trolls and white or black supremacists those days that you can't have a normal boxing discussion anymore. I mean it was always the problem but now I feel most people base their opinion on boxers on completely non boxing related factors.

Been saying this for years, people on this site are mostly fans of certain boxers And not boxing fans.

To Broner's credit, he did prove himself to be the best 135lber in the world. He destroyed Demarco who most people across the pond thought would beat him. By comparison, GGG and Kovalev haven't fought anyone in the top 3 in their division. They would never move up several weight classes like Broner did after he established himself as the best in his division, something Kovalev and GGG have not even come close to doing. Despite that, Kovalev and GGG are being hyped up more than Broner was. I don't see anyone on the level of a Super Hans bring down either of those two like he did broner, so I fail to see your point.

i'm not a fan of broner either, I enjoyed watching him get humbled by maidana. i do respect him more now after taking his beating like a man. :deal

Lol, even though I'm a fan of GGG and Kovalev I think they are a bit overhyped, however, Broner was FAR more hyped. So many people were almost expecting him to take over Floyd and become number 1 p4p it's ridiculous, he actually made it to the ring P4P top 10 without really beating anyone significant and the few good fighters he fought, most people thought he lost those fights.

The Russians are kayoing bums and they can't fight inside. Don't blame fans for hating to watch that kind of fighting. I do like Kovalev's talent, but that's about it.

Nobody hates the Russian because they are white. The first to cry white and the first to accuse black fans and fighters of crying racism in boxing and vice versa. Man eff yall bigots. Go join the KKK or the Nation of Islam and cry racism until you croak.

People dont dismiss Wilders knock outs , they dismiss his level of competition and the legitimacy of certain knock outs. The trolls on here that big Wilder up so much is the reason he get so much hate and because his ridiculously over hyped for what he has done.

If Wilder's hype had not been blown out of all preportion he would have a lot more fans on here

The boxer aren't. First thing they do is look for an African American trainer.
