No kidding. No one is saying that Koscheck's comments weren't prejudiced. It's just that some insist on using the wrong terminology. The Constitution of France explicitly states that an individual's race has no bearing whatsoever on his/her citizenship. There's no other way around that.
Right, this is my last word on the subject. I feel guilty and dirty for arguing with you as it is like beating up a ******ed child: too easy and extremely unfair as you obvioulsy don't have all your faculties. You said the discriminating against the French isn't a racial issue because France isn't a race it's a nation. I said that behaviour is racism because the meaning of the word racism (or racial discrimination) in common usage also includes prejudice against nationalities. I looked for a definition of racial discrimination and found the actual mandate from the UN which is the legal and cultural definition of what racial discrimination actually is, and what it can be difined as in our society. It clearly states that to prejudice against a peson based on their nationality constitutes racial discrimination. I mean the fact that you couldn't even get the meaning of the passage I quoted speaks volumes. You just skim through sentences and take your own, often wrong, meaning from them. Your pedantic stance when discussing language suggests you are suffering from Aspergers or possibly full blown Autism. The fact that you, in 2010 where racism is such a senstive and important issue, don't even know what the word racism means culturally and how the word is used to denote prejudice against people based on heritage, background, nationality as well as coulour and creed, is frankly apalling. I don't blame you, I blame your parents and the education system.
Blah Blah blah. Being "French" is not a race no matter how smart you try to make yourself sound. You think Cheik Kongo and GSP are the same "race".
Absolutely. France has it's own very real divisive race issues (I honestly don't know much about Quebec's situation.) French people of Arab, African or Caucasian descent certainly don't think of themselves as one "race" and they aren't.
I feel your pain this is the problemy with all forums summed up perfectly. One ends up wasting loads of time and energy.
People in this thread are aware of the word xenophobia, right? Could have saved an awful lot of messing around. Koscheck made a xenophobic comment, not a racist one.
Kos is going to KTFO of GSP, I'm afraid. Kos was training basically Thai boxing and nothing else when they first fought, and GSP still didn't really dominate as much as people think. I think Kos will sprawl well and force GSP into punching exchanges, and probably score a KO. Kos is as explosive and a better wrestler when he actually trains for it. ps can all you ***s talking about France kindly GTFO and go back to your blubbering vagina forums?
Even if Kos can sprawl and avoid the takedowns, i don't see how he's got an advantage in the stand up department, sure it could happen that he lands a good punch and follow up with a ko, but it's not like GSP's ''weakness'' is his stand up, and he can kick better too. All in all it should be an interesting fight anyways.
